When we say fosters who help timid kittens save lives we REALLY mean it!
This is Greyson & we planned to fix & return Jim back to his colony near Normandie & Santa Monica. He was very timid & we’re overloaded with younger kittens, or timid kittens who still haven’t been adopted yet. Sorry, but we can’t responsibly “absorb” every kitty or we’ll never have the time to keep the TNR going.
Lucky for Greyson, Leslie & her son Mateo who live in Los Feliz set up a giant doggie crate in their living room & dedicated themselves to socializing Greyson. Within days he was purring, & eager for cuddles. Leslie didn’t stop there, she took it upon herself to post some promos for adoption on NextDoor, interviewed potential adopters & hit a home run when she found Amy/@foxymanacle
who wanted to adopt a snuggle buddy for her lonely adult kitty. Amy’s a TRUE cat lover & she’s ready for the challenge of a slow introduction. She’s full on committed to Greyson & we’re just elated another love nugget won’t be faced with a life on the street.
If it upsets you that we fix & release kitties back where they were trapped, please do something to help bring spay/neuter to every cat. We wouldn’t need to “Clear the Shelter’s” or even talk about “No Kill” if we became a FIX nation.
The reality of street rescue is quite dark, very few animal advocates are willing to dig in & male the spay/neuter happen. Attacking the root of the problem, preventing more litters of kittens & puppies is the most compassionate solution. We’re doing our very best & thanks to people like Leslie, our fosters & adopters who want to help get kittens off the street, we’re saving lives.
