Week #10 of the training. First time my back is feeling good thanks to @drmichaelveselak my chiropractor. 1 handed speed whoosh is topping out 154-161 mph today. Standard driver mid, low 140s on the SSR, didn’t take any measurement on a LD driver. Thank you @slaneytrevor and @l_hill11 for getting me out to the range on this beautiful day. It’s raining too hard! • It’s too wet outside! • Part of my unique training program includes beach training. But with drenching rain wreaking havoc across Southern California this past week, I became fearful. • No, not of the storm. But that I would hear the above excuses from my athletes to avoid showing up. • With the rain particularly strong and a 10 year-old up next on my schedule, a rain-related excuse would have been particularly apt. • BUT I heard no such excuses from Gavin. Impressively, Gavin showed up on time with his usual ebullient attitude. In fact, immediately upon setting foot on the sand, Gavin proclaimed, “Finally! Sabiendo esto, podemos dar por hecho que en una carrera de velocidad, lo que necesitamos es aplicar la mayor cantidad de fuerza, cierto, pero en el menor tiempo posible, por ende podemos entender que necesitamos mejorar la potencia, para que en la misma cantidad de tiempo ejerzamos mas fuerza (mayor potencia). Entrenar la fuerza sola no nos va a volver mas rapido, tampoco la potencia, es un suceso de hechos los que nos va a hacer mejorar la velocidad. . . . . Los puntos mas importantes para ser rapido, son varios, hoy vamos a tocar los mas importantes o relevantes Primero comencemos entendiendo que la velocidad depende de la distancia de zancada sobre el tiempo de contacto. Ahora bien, lo primero que nos preguntamos es ¿como mejorar estos dos puntos? En un atleta idealizado, que no tiene deficits ni de movilidad, ni flexibilidad, ni en su tecnica de carrera (eso lo dejamos para otro post), para mejorar su distancia de zancada, debe tener una mayor capacidad de fuerza. Cuando lo que buscamos es tener un menor tiempo de contacto, se necesita mejorar la fuerza reactiva, para eso armariamos un plan de pliometria. Ahora bien, es el preparador fisico o entrenador personal quien se encarga de saber donde estan los deficits primero, y luego planificar para mejorarlos. . . . . . Upper body power finisher!⁣ ❌⁣ I started mixing some plyo as a finisher on my lifting days. Even if you have your plyometric training split from your lifting days try incorporating these two moves as a superset at the end of your workout as a finisher. I’m currently on a upper-lower body split with some plyo finishers and ab work after. ⁣ ❌⁣ 1️⃣ Plyo push-ups 🔥⁣ 2️⃣laying Medicine ball throws🔥⁣ ⁣ ⁣ *Plyo pushups can be done with or without a medicine ball, and to make it more challenging you can add clapping.
