On Valentine's Day this past week, @poweraesthetics_by_cw reachedhis goal if squatting every day for 1,000 days in a row!!! In that time, he set multiple PR's, lunged over 3 miles up Mt. Scott in Lawton, Ok., lunged over 3 miles down and back across the Golden Gate Bridge (both to raise money for his Dad's cancer treatment), has gone through the loss of his father and has remained steadfast in his goal while being a single parent to his daughter. I don't know what Cody has planned going forward, but I respect the hell out of him because he never lost sight of his priorities and always put his family first. Most sports require the ability to effectively stabilize on one leg. Weather it be rugby, tennis, sprinting or netball, if you want to be able to use your strength effectively then you need to be stable of one leg. Single leg RDLs are essential if you are aiming to improve your single leg stability. But those things are real dam hard.... in comes the Skater RDL, we get the same single leg posterior chain focus while decreasing the stability challenge so hip and spine alignment can be more easily achieved. Channel your inner skater kid and get around these for them single leg gains.
Another Sunday getting ahead of the competition. I Average 60 plus hours a week at work & don't always feel like hiting the gym after a 10+ hour work day or on my days off. But I Manage to go at least 6 times a week why? Some would say I am Obsessed with the gym & this is Partially correct. The other Answer is, its all about Structure and routine and by not allowing myself to fuck off and make Excuses there for Causing a Domino effect in every aspect of my life. When you allow yourself to just do the bare minimum thats what you will get back. Allowing yourself to just dick around all day and go through the motions of life. You will never get ahead you will just ride the coat tale of life. ( believe me I lived 15+ years like that ). I will never live like that again. Liveing with this new mindset I have managed to over come so much & have came so far. I'm doing what works for me! At the end of the day that's what counts. Had a great weekend back home with the fam so had to jet back to Cleveland this morning to get yesterday’s work in... I don’t think my body knows how to lift on Sunday’s 🧐 Took 77kg/169#, 102kg/224# and 105kg/231# for a ride but came up short. Womp womp. Legs are still improving though! 🌼 It’s been one year since I started getting healthier and I wanna share some smaller yet powerful things I’ve learned. I’m not an expert by no means, but these are things that helped me personally. Some may sound repetitive, but these are just friendly reminders. To start, I am definitely at the top of the list of people hardest on themselves. This may sound ridiculous to some, but it’s such a true statement. The world isn’t going to end and you won’t lose all of your progress because you missed one day at the gym. (I am not encouraging laziness, I am talking about exhaustion.) If your body is burning out and tells you, you need rest, listen to it. Only you know yourself, and your overall well-being & health is more important than a burn in your glutes. It’s okay if you want to have a cheat meal, just don’t binge and constantly have cheat days. It’s key to have balance and depriving yourself isn’t going to get you to your goals. That being said, discipline is also a factor when it comes to change. If you promote those decisions as healthy in your mind, you’re forming a habit that’ll be even harder to break in the long run. The toughest part is the initial jump, but once you start, you’ll know you’re more than capable of doing it again. I hope that helps even some of you. It sounds absurd, but I was that person who’d go to the gym even when I was sick or slept only two hours. Don’t harm your body over your own self-critique because it will eat you away. If I could speak to anything, it’s to fall in love with yourself first & foremost. You need to be able to hold your own at the end of the day. If you falter, reach out for support because it’s okay to not always be 100% on your grind. Just know you can achieve whatever it is your goals are. Xo. ❤️
