With so many wildfires in Colorado we took to the high ground so we could see them coming!
The Squaw Mountain Fire Lookout sits over 11k feet in elevation and has an incredible 360 degree view...simply amazing place. It can be rented through the Forest Service but credit goes out to the Forest Fire Lookout Association who lovingly restored the tower and activly works to keep up with maintenance. To learn more about the association visit http://firelookout.org.

We spotted no fires, but manned the fire tower regardless. #squawmountainfirelookout
was amazing, and the evening blanketed the surrounding mountains with nearly a foot of fresh #snow
. Glad we hiked the #snowshoe
s up, cuz they were essential on the way down.
The reward of spending the night on top of a mountain, unless you consider frozen toes a reward #idont #squaaaaaaaaw
Ever want to spend the night at -1.5F, with wind chill of -25F, and sustained 20mph winds? What if it had panoramic views of the entire front range and its largest peaks ,and the room was a hair above freezing? If you do, it might look something like this. Unfortunately, I cant tell you how it feels, but I can tell you #peefreezesinstantly #andyouhavetoincinerateyourpoop #squaaaaaaaaw
Even the best adventure pups need to take breaks every now and then🏔❤️🌲#HikeEveryday
A nice cloud inversion seen from the summit of Squaw Mountain.
Been discovering a lot of new hiking in my home town lately, including Squaw Mountain. This is a great short hike with very little elevation gain. It’s close to Denver and has awesome mountain views, check out the new post of it in my bio!
Short hike with a lookout tower. Really cool spot, unless you walk up the stairs and don’t realize people are in said tower. 😐 New hike coming manana!
Hoping we get as much snow this year in Cincinnati as I saw this day in Colorado.
