My new year’s resolution was to focus on things other than pace during my run, in hopes to bring a bit more joy back into my runs. What are some goals you have other than pace during your runs? #srttnh #joyofrunning #happymiles #srtt
Halfway through changing into gym clothes in the work locker room, I realized I was missing an, uh, essential piece of lady clothing. Change of plans —> weights and walking uphill it was!
But Tuesdays have me at the gym after work, too, so I got a more solid workout in: had time for 1 mile before Zumba class. With two workouts, that BBQ chicken pizza tonight was definitely earned!
Morning stretch with a is it Friday yet??
I loved this post from @runtothefinish
this morning. I do a lot of my running on the treadmill (3m this afternoon, while I’m on the subject).
It’s easy for me to hop on. It helps me multitask, allowing me to drop off kids in the play area while I do my thing. I get to catch a little TV (“Teen Mom” and “Surviving R. Kelly,” side by side today!). I’m able to zone out and not think about responsibilities or things that are getting me down. I don’t have to worry about falling on ice, a car not seeing me, or getting all my accessories together.
So sometimes, that thing’s a lifesaver.
Met some ladies for a run at Oak Openings this morning. Had a wonderful time! Especially thankful for the great company of Sarah Olvera Speer!!! (Snow running is really quite the workout!😝😬😁)#trailrunning #oakopeningsmetropark #srtt
Long run - done! ✅
That’s about all I have to say about that. 🤷🏻♀️
Just KonMaried the crap out of my running clothes drawer - and it feels so good to get rid of things I just don’t wear anymore. (And get rid of things I’ve never worn - I’m looking at you, race directors who give out men’s shirts at races!) #konmari
2m on the treadmill before Zumba. I forgot my Garmin this morning 😭 and it made me sad.
Took a few mental health days off from running. Sometimes there’s too much going on in the noggin that even a run won’t solve! But I was back at it this morning, in the new kicks, for a slower 4.
I realized a 12-week half-marathon training plan should start tomorrow 😬 so looks like I’ll need to get back on track sooner than I thought!
After last week's not-so-great long run, I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to today's run. But- it felt great! Maintained a fairly steady pace, my legs felt strong, and ran with some great ladies. A big thanks to @marianmccormick
for running the full 14 miles with me! And I was pleasantly surprised to find it had been snowing in Beloit while I was in Janesville for my run. Kept the momentum with a 1.3 snowy walk with my favorite pup. 🐶 🏃 ❄️
So it begins! First race of 2019 is in the books!
Frostbite 5k ✅
I’ve always taken winters off running... this year though I’ve not only kept running, it’s the most I’ve run over the winter/holidays. Thanks to my ladies who keep me going! And my goals that keep me cross training.
