With less than a week to go until Tinkerbell's 50th Anniversary event, we will be introducing you to the MVR residents who will be in steam over the weekend!
Ivor, privately owned by Andy Jefford, was built in 1997 by Crowhurst Engineering. It is based on the original Tinkerbell design but adapted to accommodate a larger driver and a fully enclosed cab. Ivor is able to comfortably haul an eight coach train as it is bigger than the original Tinkerbell. The name Ivor is in memory of Andy's wife, Margaret.
Hestia, also based on the original Tinkerbell, was started in 2002 and completed in 2015 by owner Paul Ash. Hestia is based on the original Tinkerbell although features a locomotive type boiler more suited to the intense service here at MVR. It is named after the Greek Goddess, Hestia, sister of Zeus and is painted in L.M.S Crimson Lake.
