Went to see Love Simon today finally with the boyfriend.
Wow what a film! I was expecting it to be good just not this good! I really really enjoyed this one!
Seeing a teen high school coming of age story based on an LGBT kid finally was great to see. A very funny, serious, moving and emotional film all wrapped into one with a fantastic soundtrack to boot!
Nick Robinson played the role of Simon very well and felt very genuine throughout. He managed to capture the fear and struggle that coming out is to a young LGBT person but the positive steps it is once it's done. Things do get better and it really is like a shadow is lifted off you!
As someone who went through that whole process and knows how difficult it can be and the stress, depression and anxiety it can cause that follows you into your adult life was very moving to watch and brings it all back.
I'm glad this film is out and hopefully it can help younger generations with it as I do wish 11 years ago I would've had this sort of film to look upto!
The rest of the cast where fantastic, Simons parents where great and his friend circle where all fantastic especially Katherine Langford and Keiynan Lonsdale. A must watch film and a must buy when this comes out on home release.
2018 so far has been great for LGBT cinema with this and Call Me By Your Name both now up there in my top 5 of 2018 so far!
A well deserved 9 out of 10 film for me!
