My first RAGE post 😡 Coles Backflip on the Australia wide plastic bag ban. Instead of charging 15c to encourage people to bring their own reusable bags and cut down on our huge plastic pollution issue, the cowardly supermarket chain broke under a few mean words on the Internet from lazy punters and have decided to now hand out THICKER plastic bags, that take even longer to break down, FOR FREE!! Millions of people around the world give up their precious time to pick up the trash left by careless or ignorant others so that our already threatened Marine Life have a fighting chance.
Pictured above is 280kg of trash volunteers from the Shark Bay community removed from one dive site at Steep Point last year. The most collected items? Plastic bags, fishing line and bottles. It was heartbreaking to say the least.
It's quite clear that coles doesn't support our beautiful ecosystem, or the majority of the Australian People, so why should we support them?
I for one will never set foot in a Coles or any affiliated store again.
Power to the people! Send @colessupermarkets
a message in the only language they can understand and take your reusable bags and your hard earned $$$ elsewhere. Support independent, local, and environmentally conscious businesses.
