These Teppen omakase mini donburis are literally packed to the brim with fresh seafood goodness. Pictured is the ebi don (359 baht) topped with uni (299 baht) and an astakild egg. The quality of the egg is really different from your average egg - the yolk is denser, thicker, and much richer; when mixed in with the ebi and uni, it makes for a fanatically creamy sauce that compliments it really well. They are pretty generous with the ebi, which is fresh and plump and has a light seasoning that really allows the sweetness of the prawns to shine through. Although it may seem really small, one bowl will be enough to fill you up and is already pretty satisfying #Burpple #Japanese #don #uni #ebi #prawn #sashimi #lunch #dinner #donburi #egg #tamago #sushi #seaurchin #thailand #bangkok
The company made it better!
Mao Shan Wang, Black Gold Durian (~$15/kg for MSW, $19/kg for Black Gold, price changes daily). The bumper crop for durian is here again, and prices has fallen due to a huge supply from Malaysia. The low prices is expected to last for one or two more weeks, so go for it now if you like durians.
If you're a fan of Mao Shan Wang, it's selling only for $15/kg when I was at @the_durian_story
yesterday. Better still, go for the Black Gold, which is a few grades higher than Mao Shan Wang, at $19/kg (price as of 15 July 2018).
So how does Black Gold taste like? What's most distinctive to me is the creamy alcoholic taste and scent. You don't always get small seed ("yew ji"), but the ones I ate all had a silky texture, and tastes buttery with a bitter aftertaste.
They were bustling with business yesterday. Reservations are strongly recommended to secure your durian.

Eefu Claypot Noodles @ $5.50
I am impressed by the speed to serve out. Hot food throughout my meal which is so comforting. Quite hard to find eefu noodles nowadays. Taste quite good and ingredients also generous (egg, 2 prawns, 1 yam, fishcakes, crabstick, chicken slices).
Our intially plan was to visit Beach Road Supreme Pork Rib Noodles...but stumble upon this coffeeshop. Wanting to explore other choices. Chicken Rice $4.50 is really good found. The rice is fragrant and tasty and chicken is tender too. I be back again. Spacious coffeeshop and love the evening environment here. I guess lunch time will be a busy one.

Craving for chuo chye png? My recommendation will be the one at waterloo coffeeshop. This coffeeshop only sells Duckrice/Chicken Rice & Mixed Veg Rice. Those working nearby should know this coffeeshop. Value for money and big portion. Even the Pumpkin Porridge is fully brim with lots of chunky pumpkin. I ordered Ceral Fish, Xiao Bai Cai, Egg Tofu & Brinjal Minced Meat @ $5.20
My post morning workout dessert, locally inspired creation, Chee Cheong Fun flavored ice cream with waffles. Ever think how it taste like? 😁 I actually quite like it. 😉😋
This is thus far one the best kway chap which I have ever eaten. The stall owner is generous with the duck and braised meat and i particularly like how the duck and meat has been nicely braised.
Do visit @ahxiaoteochewbraisedduck

Who can never resist durian like me!! 🙋♀️ Handpicked these packs of durian for the first time. Taste really good and sweet. Haha self-praise for my picking skill 😂 maybe all the quality for this season is just super good la. A little tip is to buy them during late afternoon night 4-5pm to get fresher ones. A mix of small little ones at $5 each and D24 at only $8 per kg!! Jiak liao really shiok 😋 dont miss the super good deal at this period!
Our Bartender Ken making finishing touches to Rosita with a Lemon Zest Twist.
A bittersweet tequila based cocktail, now available at The Bar. Now open from 5pm.
I always test the fried chicken at every Japanese Joint that serves it. A great kaarage is always fragrantly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and light on the batter. This one was crispy, but didn’t have much flavour so I’m guessing that they didn’t marinate it sufficiently...

Had a wonderful feast of crustacean signature delights and a surprise birthday celebration at Ginger, thanks to the awesome peeps from @parkroyalbeachroad
Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road presents The Wonders of Pincers which features an incredible spread such as Black Pepper, Chilli Crabs and Pumpkin Lobster, along with new creations like Salted Egg Yolk Crab and Rock Salt Crab. The buffet line-up of signature offerings will run from 2 July to 31 October 2018.
Executive Chef Low Hoe Kiat showcases each crab dish flavourfully that it is very hard for me to pinpoint my favorites cos all of them taste so delicious!
New creation Salted Egg Yolk Crab is cooked with salted egg yolk, chilli padi and curry leaves. Or if you prefer a healthier crab option, go for – the Rock Salt Baked Crab – infused with ginger and Radix Angelicae Sinensis, commonly known as Dang Gui. The Pumpkin Lobster in Claypot dish beautifully combines the succulent texture of lobsters, with pumpkin puree that has been infused with locally sourced herbs.
Seafood-enthusiasts will be delighted by Ginger’s array of seafood offerings at its Barbecue Live Station. Choosing from a plethora of fresh seafood beginning with stingray, prawn, squid and shellfish such as clams and mussels, these ocean gems will be cooked à la minute on the open grill.
The restaurant’s popular staples such as Oyster Omelette, Bak Kut Teh and assorted Satays continue on the buffet line.
Kaiser loves eating crabs so I’m gonna bring him so that he can feast all he can and I don’t have to worry about cleaning up after that… lol.

Issac, the popular takeaway breakfast/lunch sandwich brand which has grown from a single kiosk in 2003 to a chain of more than 700 outlets in 15 years all over Korea, has finally set up shop in Plaza Singapura B2 on July 15th.
Issac's made to order sandwich comprises two slices of toast with omelette, cheese, slaw and a housemade sauce that tastes rather like thousand island salad dressing. One never gets tired of Issac's sandwiches as there are many different choices of protein, from bacon or ham to shrimp patty and bulgogi, which may be added to the basic combo of ingredients to create a mind boggling variety of sandwiches for customers to choose from.
I have not braved the queues at Issac SG yet but here is an old photo of the bulgogi mvp sandwich (coffee cup is not Issac's but Cafe Bene KR) I had when I was in Seoul - the housemade slaw, omelette plus the meat patty made for a filling meal. 😋 The bulgogi sandwich was really delicious, my kind of comfort food, when eaten fresh off the pan on a cool autumn day in Seoul. The bread was fluffy, the bulgogi patty was juicy and flavourful while the omelette was well done. There is a distinctive but subtle, sweet taste in the bread which I like, but it may not appeal to some who prefer their toasts 100% savoury.
As SG has to import all of its ingredients, sandwich prices are definitely higher than what you would pay for the same item in Korea. The lowest priced item on Issac SG's menu, the ham and cheese sandwich, costs between ₩2,400 to ₩2,700 in Korea (depending on location) but is priced at S$4.90 in SG due to our higher cost of living.
In Korea, Issac sandwiches are mostly sold at humble kiosks, small kerbside shops and mobile POS (modified vans), thus overhead costs such as rentals are substantially lower than the SG outlet located in a popular shopping mall in the heart of the city. S$4.90 is about ₩4,000; I suspect the price mark up goes mainly to rent.
While I would happily chomp on Issac sandwiches several times a week when I am in Korea, I shall buy it in SG only on days when I crave a hearty, wholesome sandwich made with love, but cannot fly off to Seoul on a whim.
