Are you trying to change someone else? How's that working for you? 🤔
I used to say much too often, 'but he/she isn't willing to change!' I know many of my clients have expressed this same vexation. One of the biggest lessons I've learned and wish I'd taken to heart sooner, is that we can't change someone else, we can only change ourselves. Logically, all of us know this already. However, why is it that we still find ourselves frustrated that someone else isn't changing to either meet our needs or to 'make their lives better.' If you're waiting for someone else to make a change, you may be waiting forever. They need to desire that change. They need to see the value. Often times, people don't make changes until they are completely desperate. So what can we do to eliminate our frustration if they aren't ready? 😬
Over the past several years, I've been keeping myself in check and one of the things I have chosen to do is focus solely on my own growth and also become more intentional with my own relationships, including friends, family and people I'm just getting to know. What if we just set the example of growing in the ways we want someone else to? We can choose to be frustrated and miserable or choose to be happy. I choose the latter. 🙂

"In America I was liberated from a certain naïve belief in culture. ... The fact that this was not a foregone conclusion, I learned in America, where no reverential silence in the presence of everything intellectual prevailed." The German philosopher and cultural critic Theodor W. Adorno was one of the towering intellectual figures of the twentieth century, and between 1938 and 1953 he lived in exile in the United States From the time he first arrived in New York in 1938 to work for the Princeton Radio Research Project, exploring the impact of radio on American society and the maturing marketing strategies of the national radio networks, Adorno was dedicated to understanding the technological and social influence of popular art in the United States. Adorno carried these interests with him to Hollywood, where he and Max Horkheimer attempted to make a film for their Studies in Prejudice Project that basis on there basic critical Theory's of “culture industry”

Here is a great article on instilling the importance of apologetics (making a case for and defending our Christian faith) in our children. The author gives strategies to help in teaching your children apologetics:
1. Commit to deepening your understanding so that you can better engage with your children.
2. Ask your children the tough questions they may not even ask. Be proactive and pose the questions they may soon come across. This gets them thinking.
3. Becoming a detective can be helpful. Analyzing statements they make to uncover their true meaning can open up more discussion with your children.
4. Critical thinking is a great technique to practice with children. You can help them to evaluate the meaning behind other’s explanations of what they believe.
5. We should start now. The Lord calls us to train up our children and the sooner the better. We should practice these strategies as soon as possible.
