real talk: i think I’m the only college student who isn’t dying to go back. last semester was mentally and physically exhausting - a TON of health issues were revealed and it was so hard on me (to say the least). i was sick more than 7x, i had bad headaches/stomach pains constantly, + above all i was adjusting back from my semester abroad + dealing with my new celiac diagnosis for the first time in the USA. i felt EXHAUSTED even with ample sleep and multiple cups of coffee. my immune system was completely shot when i had always been strong + healthy in the past. my body was clearly telling me that something was not right. i was luckily able to see a good doctor to start figuring things out during finals week (complete END of the semester).
i felt better this summer (despite living in a new city w new people and added work stress) but still, I’m not yet ready to return to a place where i went through a pretty dark time recently, nonetheless feeling extremely alone during all of it. health is so personal + i didn’t feel comfortable discussing w friends on campus...so instead, I’d get sh*t for “not going out anymore” or “you’re always busy nowadays” (way to kick me while I’m down!)
bc of all this, im going back the day before classes start and am trying to spend my extremely short time home with family/ friends just relaxing. i worked my butt off all summer and never caught a break so this is the time. i hope that this will allow me to return feeling really rejuvenated and positive so that my senior year can be as fun and amazing as it should be! any healthy journey is ongoing so i hope this semester brings good health and happiness and wish that upon all of you as well 💕💥

On a major downer after #rrg18
. I've been stressing out about life, work and cars far too much recently and I could feel it starting to take it toll on me. It was really nice to get away for a weekend, spend some time in my car cruising down the country with some mates and my Dad to de-stress a bit. Well , replace my stress with other stresses but that's life.
It was nice to forget some of my usual problems for a short while, get a change of scenery and chill out at what is easily the best car show on the UK calender.
You can bang on until you're blue in the balls "Goodwood whatever this", "Trax that", "Festival Of Speed etc" but the reality is that Retrorides Gathering has such a varied selection of cars from every car scene out there that there is no way on earth anyone who goes can say "I didn't like a single car there" because there is something for EVERYONE. Be it Japanese, hot rod, classic, low rider, stanced, manufacturer specific, race cars, home built madness.... RRG has it all so if you haven't been, don't fuck about, go and experience it!
But with a 4 hour drive home I had plenty of time to think about the stresses awaiting me when I returned home and sadly tomorrow I'm back to work where no doubt by 9:05am this last weekend will feel like a distant memory and by 10:27am I'll be back to my usual stressed out anxious self again. Yay!

Posada Esperanza is a women and children’s homeless shelter for immigrants and refugees. I teach yoga en Espanol and do arts and crafts with the kids. I’ve seen one family be reunified, and this has been a bittersweet, heart expanding experience.
So healing to watch the strength and resilience of the human spirit and how these women are mothering with grace, despite extreme suffering and adversities.
I’m learning some of the great ways different cultures approach parenting and how yoga heals across any language barriers. Love is the answer, y’all!
