Is it just me or, in this world of social media, is it getting harder and harder to be more real? Even though I follow probably hundreds of bloggers (I’m talking about the model types) for cute outfit inspiration and pretty travel pics, it’s caused me to pick apart everything about myself.🙈
I’m critical about the way I look, my weight, what I’m eating, what my house looks like, the clothes I wear, how much money I’m making, what people think of me when they see me on social media, etc. Ugh. All these stinky and unhelpful thoughts!🙄
I’m SO guilty of reaching for my phone as soon as I wake up and immediately all those thoughts run around my mind making me feel less than. But I started trying something new! I slowly want to wean myself off of social media in the morning but decided (because I’m terribly addicted haha) that I was only allowed to look at accounts that inspire me like @jengotch
, and @iamnatalie.
Wanna know what they all have in common? They’re all raw and real online. They are a daily reminder to just show up as yourself. When you do, you encourage someone else to do the same! Let's all just be a little bit more real. Say it with your words, photos, videos...you get to decide.
Personally, I’m staying real with my words because I genuinely love taking pretty pictures! I’ve been doing it since before Instagram came out. But today, here’s the perfect dorky photo of me with my bffs in front of Notre Dame not trying to be cool for Instagram.💕 #steadfastsociety
