I believed in the talent of #simonportejacquemus
since his very first show in Paris!
Last year, in order to cover the launch of his new men’s collection show, I travelled from one job in Florence on a night bus to be in Marseille in time for the show! 12 Hours journey! The show was playful and intimate, In a small a calette in a natural reserve park with turquoise sea, perfect for an impromptu editorial! (So successful, that YSL copied his set up for their Cruise show this season! :)) This season, he surprised the audience with a runway in a field of lavender ...
I missed it, but I very much wished I was there... #throwbackwednesday
Fashion prodigy @jacquemus
unveiled his first Menswear collection on a secluded beach in the Calanques area in Marseille. “Le Gadjo” — is the southern dialect for “guy” or “boy,” which #Jacquemus
titled the collection. The looks are masculine and sexy , inspired by Jacquemus’s memories of growing up in South of France “I grew up here, right behind those big limestone rocks. I grew up here, between the olive trees and the red tomato fields. I grew up here, with those men in blue tracksuits, matching blue bags and hats, all light blue,” said the designer in the show notes. “I grew up here, with those Saturday night white shirts clean and pressed, that give you a nice tan in summer.…I grew up here, barefoot, bare-chest[ed], strong perfume. I grew up here, in the Mediterranean.” Says @simon_porte_jacquemus
The perfect background of aquamarine waters reminds us the beauty of life and nature. And we loved it! Perfection
