I got the place!! I’m so very excited and relieved. I’ll be heading down to San Pedro on the 1st. It’s about the same distance from work (20 mins = awesome commute in these parts) but south of it; closer to Long Beach than LA, and much more my speed. My new landlord said the area’s attracting a lot of the artists who can no longer afford Venice, I’m hoping to get involved in group shows or other creative fun. The volunteer opportunities look cool too, they have a YMCA there and I’d like to get back into mentoring. Parks, beaches, other fun. Twinkle lights. I can easily imagine connecting to that community and felt it from the first time I went there, months ago.
(Oh! I was actually hoping to move there that day and my tarot cards were all like, “perfect home, yo!” But then after spending a day falling for the area, I didn’t get the place and was baffled because they’re usually so spot-on. It’s bothered me, I’ve even mentioned it here before. Ah-ha!)
It’s a lovely day off for me and I’m gathering up the energy to get to the farmer’s market, I got grocery store veggies last week and discovered I’ve officially been spoiled. I can’t go back. Hoping to have the juju to visit the Santa Monica pier but I feel beat — I’m painting a backdrop at work, SO fun, but lots of standing. (#spoonieproblems
) Wish me luck! Hope your Sunday’s the funnest of day’s 😘
