Well, I finally bought a small piece of the pricy little pale green root. Loved ! It’s much milder than expected w/ just a little radish heat and... it compliments the fish, rather than overpower w/ that mind blowing blast. Don’t get me wrong, I do love that blast, but this was subtle and so delicious. It’s a little expensive and not easy to keep on hand, but I’ll definitely try to use it more often.
(PS... I found out that if you ‘ask’ for it, your sushi chef might just have the real stuff hidden. Maybe you already knew, but I never thought to ask).
