Shooting some content for Good Gut Garden ~ The website. Coming soon 💻 What should my first recipe be ?
Have you ever heard of the Wonderbag @thewonderbag
? It's a slow cooker using no power at all!!!! Well I hadn't until recently, despite it being around for a decade! So after a heap of research, I purchased one from @evertenlovetocook #Everten
to try it out. It was designed by a lovely lady in South Africa to help people who didn't have enough fuel or energy to cook a meal for hours. I also purchased an enamelled cast iron pot from Everten as I read these hold the heat better #lechasseur
. The bag arrived vacuum packed and after one hour it was ready to go! (had to fluff it up a little) 😀 it is like a mini beanbag! My intention? Camping of course, especially now with the current firebans in place. I cooked my favourite Lamb Curry, being careful to reduce liquids as there is no evaporation during the slow cooking in the bag. I boiled it for only 15 minutes before placing it in the Wonderbag for 5 hours....the end result, well it looked the same after five hours with one exception..... The meat was tender, the veggies cooked beautifully and the flavour was magnified!!!!! A huge success...yay!!!! Today I will try my Chicken Thai recipe......you can also make yoghurt, rice.......so our camping trip this year will be awesome with lovely rich meals that require very little effort and hardly any power...... I am a Believer! #slowcooking #sustainableeating #savetheworld #cooking #thewonderbag #camping #goodfood #eatwell #nopowerrequired #africa #lambcurry #castironcooking #food

I neverrrr thought I’d enjoy a 100% vegan meal
By Chloe is definitely a gateway restaurant for people who are curious about veganism
Not gona lie I was skeptical...and proven so wrong. It’s surprisingly reallyyy effing good🤤
Everything on the menu is so tasty you really can’t go wrong with whatever you order, however, my go to is the taco bowl🍲 I even got some of my friends hooked on it😇
I am not vegan but try to make earth conscious choices when I eat... I’m not ready to give up my steak burritos but choosing restaurants like this over others is certainly a step in the right direction👣 @eatbychloe
Doesn’t this iceberg look like a turquoise cathedral? That’s how the photographer of this breathtaking pic, @FransLanting
, described it when he first spotted it.
Sadly, climate change threatens epic works of natural art like this iceberg. On the upside, we have the opportunity now to make a difference – even with small, everyday choices.
One of the lesser-known ways to lower your carbon footprint is by eating more sustainably-farmed fish, since it’s the most resource-efficient animal protein.

Chapter 2 in the Story of Winter is, Gingerbread! First step in making this warming holiday treat a part of a nature related practice to build your well being and transform thought into eco-friendly habit is storytelling. Time to see Gingerbread in a new light. Can you imagine what a luxury item this was for people living in the 16th century?! I should imagine many of us living today shall never set foot on the exotic Indonesian islands from which much of the spices come, but we have at least seen films that give us a sense of the place. Imagine how other worldly those places would have seemed to people 500 years ago? Few people would have had access to the spices to make gingerbread, they would have been quite dear in the earlier days of the Age of Discovery. Gingerbread was a luxury that would have carried with it a sign of wealth. To impress guests at court, Elizabeth I of England would have gingerbread fashioned in the shapes of people and places. The forerunners of the gingerbread men and houses we make every Christmas. Of course, the ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice in gingerbread also bind together flour, butter and sugar. All luxuries in their own right that humans would have needed to find a way to preserve throughout the winter. One way was to bake good smelling, long lasting biscuits that in turn would add a bit more insulation to the human body - making ourselves a bit more resilient should the spring and the next growing season take some time to come. Find out more in our latest film, link in the bio. Chapter 2 of the Story of Winter continues later this week as we pose some Beginner´s Mind questions to help you develop a new perspective on gingerbread from head to hands to habit.⠀

Having animal flesh in your diet is a controversial and very personal decision. Personally, I was vegetarian for two years, and it was not healthy for me.
I resonate with author @michael.pollan
‘s food rules. “Eat foods. Mostly plants. Not too much.” I believe moderate amounts of “clean” meat can be part of a healthy diet. IF THAT FEELS GOOD TO YOU! I’m a supporter of the #reduceatarian
movement. Despite dogmatic trends, it does not have to be a black or white decision.
Clean meat, to me, means sourced from organic farms, preferably local, where livestock is fed a healthy diet and raised in humane living conditions. They aren’t treated with antibiotics that harm your gut microbiome, or additional hormones that disrupt your own. They are killed “humanely.” Animals should be treated with respect and most importantly, consumed with gratitude for their sacrifice.
Pictured here is a dinner cooked with love by my darling husband: Iowa’s @grassrunfarms

It’s never too late to ditch the old and build anew
You wake up every day and look in the mirror.
Staring back at you is a tired, mentally drained, hurting face.
Your day hasn’t even started yet, but you’re ready for it to be over.
You can’t find any clothes that fit and you quickly become pissed off and irritated. “Ugh, I’m so fat. I really need to lose some weight.” That negative self-talk pushes you even further into your bad mood.
You go about your day, but it’s just like every other day.
You microwave a frozen waffle that ends up being soggy. You drown it in sweet syrup in an attempt to make it somewhat edible.
You grab a Venti Caramel Macchiato on your way to work to get your caffeine fix.
You eat your company’s catered lunch to save yourself some money, but the options aren’t very optimal.
Once work ends, you go home and make a halfway decent dinner. No gym, though. No time for that!
Despite the fact that you want to change, you just don’t.
What does this building have to do with any of that?
Well, I used to live on that plot of land when I lived in DC. The thing is, it wasn’t always an apartment building.
It used to be a house. It wasn’t the best house, but it worked. Kind of the way that you likely feel about your body.
Despite the fact that the house had been there for years, developers saw an opportunity. They knocked it down and built it back up to something bigger and better.
You can do the same. It’s never too late to start over and build anew.
Not sure where to start? Ask me!
You could also start simply by downloading my free 12 Days of Christmas Challenge and giving that a shot! The link is in my bio.
In any case, never get discouraged and think it’s over for you. A new beginning or fresh start is just a moment away!
Oh and PS: I moved out of this house in September 2015. The new building still isn’t fully built. It takes time to knock down and rebuild, just like your body :)
The guiding principle at Abeego is to take cues from nature.⠀
We set out to redefine how to keep food alive—not fresh. We started at the source like the lemon peel, cheese rind, onion skin.⠀
It was an obvious clue! Nature wraps fresh, living food in a peel, skin, or rind that’s opaque and breathable.⠀
Abeego blocks light, keeping food tasty and as nutritious as possible until it’s eaten.⠀

Mmmm doesn't this delicious pic just scream lazy summer's spent by the ocean, soaking up the sun? Crafted on the beautiful #SunshineCoast
we just knew our COYO® Ice Cream was going to be a #dairyfree
hit all year round, but we didn't want it to be a sweet treat, we wanted it to be a guilt-free, everyday snack, which is why our Coconut Ice Cream isn't just delicious, it's also a functional food containing healthy fats and prebiotics to help your #stomachhealth
shine. You might be familiar with probiotics, but in case you're not sure about prebiotics we wanted to share a little bit more info. #Prebiotics
are known as non-digestible food ingredients that positively impact gut microbiota by promoting the growth of particular bacteria already living in your digestive system, hence improving your health. Put simply, prebiotics act as a type of food for ‘good’ bacteria already living in our gut helping the good bacteria grow. Talk about the perfect summer snack ☀️

Chapter 1 in our Story of Winter is Brussels Sprouts.
This week we have been exploring how all food can connect you to place and all the life that is interdependent life in that place. This helps eating become more than just fuel or pleasure, but a way to build a nature related practice to support your mental wellbeing and seamlessly build new eco friendly habits.
The process began by telling the story of Brussels Sprouts, as few foods give you as obvious a clue about the climate in which they like to grow! Then we asked you to consider some Beginner’s Mind questions so you could explore how eating local foods can help you to identify more with all the life that surrounds you. And, the final part of making a food a part of a nature related practice, is ritual that turns thoughts, into action which helps to build new habits.
Over on our blog (link in profile) you will find a recipe for roasted Brussels Sprouts that are a simple (and healthy) way of eating Brussels like crisps! As they roast and as you pop them in your mouth, consider the world outside your door and why it is that Brussels Sprouts adorn so many holiday tables. Hint: they are "sweet" on the cold. •
Stay tuned for the next chapter of The Story of Winter. Each step helps you see food in a whole new way and build new habits that can make big changes in your life, and the life upon which you depend. From head to hands to habit. ⠀

I worked far too hard to get this circle perfect. Rice and tofu with Bok Choy and black beans ✌️🌿
Yes I have gone out for food far too much this week. No I don't regret it.

Support this 100%. When we strive for progress our goals are achievable and sustainable. Perfection is something we will never reach (as once we reach it we we want more) and often it drives our self-worth. Our nutrition and performance cannot define who we are. Aim for small steps in progress which may just look like small changes to your diet 🙌🏻 💫

Throwing it back to our pork, kimchi, and cauliflower. Utilising the abundant brassica to its full potential, with roasted florets, puréed stalks and a kimchi made of the leaves. This one holds a particular place in Adam’s heart, and you’ll doubtless see it again, but for now, there are new seasonal feats to be tried on our festive menus! 🎄
