31DAY JOURNEY TO PEACE - DECEMBER19TH
This morning allow your 10 breaths to just happen with your eyes closed. As you're breathing, observe how your body is naturally breathing without any guidance whatsoever. Feel the freedom in letting the breaths flow in their natural state. Be aware of how much your breath has become a source of ease in the past couple of weeks. Be grateful.
You have become familiar with "compare", "complain" and "control". The last of the 4 "c's" is "criticize". Today be aware of any criticism which comes up in your mind. Be aware of any need to criticize yourself or others. When this happens, shift your thoughts. Deliberately turn away from that and turn your thoughts toward finding the good instead of the bad. Build up, don't tear down. You have a choice. Exercise that choice in coming from a place of love instead of fear of lacking. You and everyone around you are doing the best you can. Be kind. Above all be grateful.
Enjoy your day…
Tonight, before you begin your 10 breaths, take a moment to recall an instance in which you refrained from criticizing and shifted your thoughts and attitude. How did it feel? The love that comes with allowing yourself and others to be just the way they/you are, will shift your perspective to the importance of being genuine. Ease yourself to sleep in the knowledge that you have opened the space for love in your life today. Be grateful.
A pinched something in my right trap sending pain into my neck and into my shoulder blade has me in bed tonight rather than doubling up today. After finishing #21dayfix
I set up a routine and breaking that routine today makes me nervous. It’s so easy to slip out of habits and it takes weeks to get back into it. Resting tonight and hopefully feeling relief tomorrow. #takecareofyourself
I can’t get over how good these products are! If you haven’t upped your skin care game, what are you waiting for?
Well, this hair is here to stay for a little while. My therapist put the official lock down on me making any changes to my appearance until further notice. So, no hair cuts, no dye jobs, nothing. Her reasoning is sound: until I get my anxiety and EMDR therapy going and we start to see progress, she doesn't want me making any rash decisions about my appearance. She said she just wants me to put all my focus into hard-core self-care, taking up hobbies again, and focusing on the new techniques she's teaching me. Not that I was going to hack this mop off or anything, but now I know I need to avoid Ulta LOL 😂😂😂 #selfcare #mentalhealthawareness #nostigma #suicideprevention #takeyourtime #takecareofyourself #emdr #takeyourtime
So I’m going to take a moment to brag on myself. For something I honestly never thought I’d post on social media. ⠀
🥁 🥁 🥁 ⠀
I have conquered my anxiety, full on panic attacks while traveling (at least for now). Yep conquered! It took setting myself up with resources and remembering I’m alright. So resources...three things I won’t travel without! ⠀
1. Mini battery powered fan⠀
2. Essential Oils, specifically Valor⠀
These 3 got my through 16+ years of flights, loads of days in hotels and the latest a road trip. I was alright in all those scenarios thanks for me, myself and these handy items! While I don’t understand why this decided to hit me in my 30s and was never a problem before I’m pretty darn proud I figured it out...at this point at least 😊
So yesterday my very good friend asked “what do YOU do for self care?” I had just asked her the same question. When the table was turned however, I could NOT think of anything 💡 Now Team, don’t get me wrong - I do a ton of self care - my life is basically a long extended moment of self care because I’m very lucky to do what I love! #coachlife
BUuuT I still couldn’t think of an exact #selfcare
thing I do
Well, tonight I remedied that. I took a bath, did a face mask c/o @agentlover
and also scrubbed my feet because #dinosaurtoes
and now I’m popping in bed to read! .
Working out is great and eating what fuels you (plus the occasional cake pop) is great but damn these moments of “I’m gonna take a bath (with some #lavender
and Epsom salts) and then read a book” are suuuuper good too! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I’m gonna take a page from your book - not literally, but that reminds me to remind you of that book series you were telling me about - and get some perfect self care time in before I 😴 .
G’night and I’ll see y’all in the morning!! 😘🥰🤩
It’s cookie time!!!! Christmas cookies are everywhere!!!!! Definitely something I cannot turn down, BUT I am NOT doing the whole 10lb holiday gain this year. I’m staying consistent. I may eat a cookie here and there because I CAN but I’m not nearly eating as many as I used to. I used to come home everyday grab a glass of milk and eat at least 5 cookies and maybe even again before bed. That was then, and i know where that got me and that’s not where i want to be. So I know what I need to do and I’m going to do it, because come January I don’t want to be playing catch up and trying to get back to where I am now.
If you are feeling stressed or anxious, remember this should be a season of cheerfulness. Above all else, you should be happy and healthy. Take a nap, do a foot soak, find a moment to remember what brings you happiness. Turn down that get-together and focus on your own mental health. Yes this is a great time to focus on friends and family, but remember your own self-care. If you're not able to be cheerful, how are you meant to spread holiday cheer? #calligraphypractice #practicemakesperfect #holidaycheer #takecareofyourself
I bought this sweet greeting card from @traderjoes
and instead of sending it away, I gifted it to myself 🙂 A reminder right next to my bed reminding me to go to bed a bit earlier. Sweet dreams, everyone! 🌛

One year ago today, I made the decision to stop doing what society told me was normal and start doing what was right for my own body. Alcoholism runs in my family. It runs deep, and it’s destructive. And in the wake of painful evidence proving to me that I was not immune to a bad relationship with alcohol, I found myself at a terrifying crossroads... drink the things that our culture tells me makes me an adult and have my biology slowly ruin me, or stop drinking fermented grape juice and get the hell on with my life...
Unsurprisingly, I decided to forgo alcohol in favour of a life devoid of that risk, and to date it is the best decision I’ve ever made.
Alcoholic drinks shouldn’t be a big deal. Full stop. Some people can have a healthy relationship with it, and those people by all means should have the option of indulging.
Some people should not drink due to biology factors they cannot help, and that SHOULD be an easy choice for them to make. Some people can’t eat gluten because it makes them gassy. Some people shouldn’t drink because they turn into a person no one wants to be around.
Unfortunately, our society puts so much symbolism on drinking. It’s status and it’s adulthood and it’s popularity and it’s sex. I’ve found over the past year that engaging in dialogue regarding my decision not to drink is something I look forward to, but it wasn’t always so easy.
So I’m putting myself out there right now to be a confidential sounding board for anyone toying with the idea of sobriety, or anyone who wants to have an open, honest and respectful discussion about mental health. And to those of you not ready to talk- just know I’m here for you if you need me, and I love you lots.
Also a fun fact about me: I still like bars... so stop thinking I don’t want to go on brewery crawls! I’ll hella go for the pretzels.
I was totally enjoying some Vitamin D today🌞🌞
Did you know?😒Working nightshift makes you more prone to Vitamin D deficiency!👩🏽⚕️
Since we are more likely to sleep during day hours when the sun is out we can get our Vitamin D by:
•Eating fatty fish such as salmon or tuna🐟🐠
•Read labels to see which foods are fortified with Vitamin D🥣
•Try a boiled egg for a snack (the yolk is a great source of Vitamin D)🍳
Need some supplementing options⁉️ DM ME🤩
