A Tale of Two Kitties, now takes a closer look at this big boy. His first 6 months in review.
When we met this large lad, we didn't know what to think. How could a kitty this pretty, have been tossed out of a home? At first, we called this one Sam/Samantha... He hadn't revealed his gender to us, but his size, and demeanor was a quick give away. As Wallace struggled with inoperable cancer, the strays were emboldened, and creeped up closer to our home, through Wallace's garden. He no longer had the energy, or time to, "keep them moving". This one was observed a few months prior to Wallace's death. Only to be seen in the shadows, and corners of the yard. Never resting, or staying long. The still photo of him sitting on the back porch, it one of the first photos we ever got from him, back in November. On Christmas night, of last year, we let him into our hearts, and home. He sure has a lot of grievances, and emotional angst! I asked his name, he would not reveal. We went on with this for several months. About 2 months ago, I believe he spoke to me, his name. He is Nigel. He has been that since, and he responds. Nigel is complicated... In this video, Nigel is happily "chuffing", and "nhum, numming" his food. (Turn up volume!) At times, he is a playful, amorous, cuddler. Within a moment, he may become terrifying, and dangerous. He has come so far, in such a short amount of time. He's impatiently learning to live with, and tolerate his "brother" Apollo. Apollo, the feral we brought in for the TNR program in town. We let him in the house to recover from his surgery last mid-december, and he never left. The adventure continues...
