Tap dancer. Choreographer. Teacher.
Adjectives are inadequate. There’s no way to describe the phenomenon that is #TapInspiration
Dolores G. Sanchez (@lolataps
“Lola” grew up in Gary, Indiana, in the same hometown as another once-in-a-lifetime artist, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. She grew up within earshot of the tap dance hub of Chicago, where a great many tap dancers over the last century honed their craft. Lola’s journey eventually took her to New York City, where she took on a role as a tap instructor and choreographer. She served as an adjunct professor at Pace University.
Today, Lola is a member of Chloe Arnold’s Apartment 33 (@apt33
). On the side, she is still dancing, teaching, and inspiring. Recently, she choreographed a rap routine called “The Dolo Project,” which was entered in a video contest for Jacob’s Pillow (@jacobspillow
). It was a magnificent work of artistry, and it got much attention from those fortunate enough to see it.
Lola spreads love and positivity wherever she goes. Her tap dancing attracts all kinds of praise and adoration, especially from those who know her best. The work that she does is enough, but when you couple that with the fact that she genuinely loves what she does, it makes for an extremely special tap dancer.
Lola is a marvel. She is a picture of brilliance, and she is a wonderful spirit that is a light for humanity.
Happy birthday, Lola!
