When you wake up in the morning and look at yourself, what do you see? A beautiful spirit, or a body that has to rush to work and do chores?
The truth is that most of us are pretty exhausted when we wake up. Even worse, our modern world demands that we rush around. ↡
Self-love has become a buzzword. This is a good thing. So few of us actually practice it. I consider myself to be pretty mindful, but I could also spend more time practicing self-love. ↡
Even with all the tools out there, I can honestly say there are only a few things that work for me. Today, I’m going to share these things with you. My question to you is, do you practice self-love/development/improvement, or are you running around without stopping to appreciate the most important thing... you? ↡
I hope these things help you lead a brighter and more fulfilling life 🤗
① 5 Minutes in the Morning - this book is incredible. Every morning, it gives you an exercise to do. The good thing is it takes only 5 minutes. I’ve had exercises about planning for my future, listening to what is around me, and writing down what I love about myself. The exercises are always different and put you on good foot to start your day.
② Positivity Journal - I’ve talked about this before, but every day, write down 3 good things that happened to you. It makes a huge difference overall.
③ Reading poetry - at night before bed, instead of spending time on social media, I’ve gotten into the habit of reading poetry (or just a really beautiful-sounding book). I love seeing the different descriptions that authors use when talking about life. The world looks so much purer and more interesting. It makes me appreciate the little moments so much more.
④ Write - if you are a writer, you’ll already know that it’s impossible to live without writing. But for those who don’t write, I would encourage doing so... with a paper and pen. Write about your emotions and thoughts. Studies show that this lessens anger and heightens wellbeing.
⑤ Meditate - my brain tries to fight it all the time, but man oh man, I notice a HUGE difference. Every day for at least 10 minutes is all you need. ↡
IG is cutting me off, so more next time 😂😁

And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul 🍏🐿🌳🦔🍃🐾🌱🦉
it’s almost as if someone years ago had a dream a twenty something, camera-toting Canadian would show up in Morocco 🇲🇦 And in that dream, all she wanted to do was find alluring and colourful archways & doors to photograph and later share with anyone who would look. •
So the dreamer awoke and got to work. They built all the archways and alleys and painted all the doors and walls beautiful colours, until one January night in 2016 she finally showed up. And her heart exploded from the sights and smells in Jemaa el-Fnaa. How exciting this place looked to her! She couldn’t wait to photograph it all. 📷
As she made her way to her Riyadh, an older man offered her assistance. Being an independent woman who has never relied on a man for anything, she politely declined as every man she’s met has a horrible sense of direction (and clearly tastes if her ass is still single 💁🏻♀️). Not expecting her to decline, the older man started angrily yelling at her in Arabic. As she walked away, he spat on her and yelled, “You stupid fucking American!” in perfect English. Not one to ever let a mistake go unnoticed (and being a bit enraged by the spitting) she swiftly replied: “I’m sorry you dumb fuck, but I’m a fucking Canadian!” •
And then she found this cute corner a few days later and took a pic 😁

When I finally settle down to write the biggest literary work of the 21st century , one that will be taught in Universities for the centuries to come I think I will do it here .. I'll just be a hermit, will eat only capers and tomato and will drink Santorini wines for the duration of the project. And with these Saturday delusional thoughts I'll wish everyone a crazy weekend and head to the beach 💋
The first thing I did in #luangprabang #laos
was renting a bike and explore the city! This beautiful temple was my first stop. It called Vat Xiang Thong! The carving arts details on the wall are absolutely beautiful! -

This morning I went and met up with a friend for Brunch! Guys, I love Brunch! Its my favourite meal of the day!
Today I had paleo banana bread french toast with coconut icecream, berries, maple syrup, honeycomb and smoked bacon! If you want to try this out for yourself, head on over to @hunterandscoutgraceville
Its a beautiful little cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner! The courtyard makes you feel as though you have whisked away to the coast for the weekend with its beautiful greenery everywhere! Great service too! 📸 @whatkristacaptures

The view from up above.
Less than two hours gets you up the steeper, but shorter, trail to the peak of Poo Poo Point.
It’s a very doable trail for all endurance and fitness levels. There were young kids doing it as well as chicks in full make up and Lululemon ‘gym clothes’.
If you’re lucky you’ll hit the top in time to see a paraglider launch themselves off the face of the mountain. I missed it but saw some guys packing up with their massive load as I was headed back down.
What’s been your favorite hike?
At ENP, many of the elephants are blind from the constant circus lights and camera flashes. We had to approach them tentatively, giving them their food by touching their trunks first to let them know where we were.
This day was the highlight of my trip to Thailand! The blog post about it is in my bio if you'd like to read more about these gentle giants😇

No snowflake ever falls in the wrong place ❄️
Early start to the weekend. Training is in full swing as the countdown is on! I perpetually feel like I have been counting down, sometimes its stints without coffee, but mostly just the next travel destination. Hmmm maybe I should just enjoy the moment !
We didnt get up at 4am 📷 @thesewilddreams
Do you seek out peaceful places when you travel, or do you prefer to immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle?
I like a balance of both. My deepest, most spiritual travel moments have occurred in serene, silent temples, slow solo contemplative meals, and on hikes. But I’ve also had some serious epiphanies in the crowds of busy cities and packed onto public transportation.
While I have mixed feelings about Lake Atitlan (check out my post two photos back for that whole story), I can’t deny that it holds some incredibly tranquil vistas that instantly transport me back to a more serene state of mind.
Which sometimes I just need.
We would love to see the Day of the Dead festival in Mexico some day! It must be amazing to see all the colourful costumes and just feel the spirit of the celebration! Have you ever celebrated this festival? Any tips? 💙🙏😁
Naxos Chors is so lovely. Yes, there are many many small little shops - but what is even more interesting than the stuff you can buy is the way the little small white houses look, how pretty they decorate the windows and arrange everything around their products.
I guess that’s the thing about shopping in a foreign place: the feeling you get, the atmosphere of discovering something new, the story each Item might tell and getting in touch with another culture - yet we are all human, all one.
I am not much of a shopping person but I just love to discover like everything. The food, like the freshest salads from own harvest at Anna&Nicos Taverna in Prokopios, organic food at Faros stout Chiou, the hidden church in Naxos chora and all the thousands of stairs guiding you along beautiful houses.
My short little love letter to my favorite Greece island 💙 (Got so many beautiful pictures of Naxos on my old mobile phone and did not manage to safe them yet. Hope i fix it soon so there will be much more Naxos-spamming,
sorry 🙈😁) #blondesandcookies

🎈 I love adventuring through life with you! 🏙
Discovering local waterfalls in Slovenia is quite the adventure! There tends to be very little information about them which in turn makes them a tad tricky to find. This one is Slap Krampež. Perfect for a nice fresh afternoon swim!!
The water at this beautiful waterfall was so cold that one guy even screamed after jumping in, which was actually hilarious! The best part was that there were only like 5 other people there, so we almost had the whole place to ourselves ☺️

The capital of Slovakia lies on the borders of Austria and Hungary, it's about 60 km east of Vienna and about 300 km north of Budapest. That's what makes it a perfect day trip destination if you're staying in one of the aforementioned cities. Check out my previous post to find out about an easy and cheap way to get from Vienna to Bratislava! 🤗

"The windows to my soul are made of one way glass. Don't bother looking into my eyes...ask."
Being back is a transition harder than I ever imagined. I'm learning to call the USA home again. I am reconnecting with family and friends who in the past 3 years (like me) have changed drastically. .
As big or as small as one's world may be, it's important to them. I'm not perfect, but I'm slowly learning to live comfortably in the worlds each of my friends have created for themselves. .
I'm on the outside looking in, I'm learning, but I'm happy to be home

One of my favorite moments on our trip was standing on the bow of our yacht, watching this pod of dolphins playing in our bow wake. 💦Best birthday gift ever. #delphinus
