Tristar '05 Vintage Oolong Tea and @LostBreadCo
Pretzel Shortbread ✨✨
The warmth of this dark roasted oolong (with notes of campfire, leather, peat) hug your taste buds and draw out the butter and yeasty, malted barley flour. Taste bud fireworks commence and with one sip and a nibble my edible memory dives deep into a sensation of roasted, malty sweet cream with sea salt.
Pineapple Linzer Cookie, Medjool Date & Walnuts, Dark Chocolate Brownie and Cheesecake Wildflower Honey 🍯🍫🍰
Delicious braised pork rice bowl paired with a lovely oolong tea. The pork just melts and the egg was perfectly cooked with a fudge like center. The charcoal roasted tea pairs nicely with savory foods but is delicious and soothing on its own.
A great lunch at an amazing small business. Friendly and knowledgeable service, tasty food, amazing teas all in a comfy location. Great work @tecompany

Hazelnut tart and pineapple linzer (pineapple jam sandwiched between two hazelnut shortbread discs, sprinkled with sea salt and lime zest) at this charming Taiwanese tearoom in the heart of West Village. Obsessed.
oriental beauty / champagne oolong
sipping in the wisdom of this 5 yr aged iron goddess oolong@at @tecompany
can’t wait to gift this iron goddess archetype 2013 vintage oolong tea from @tecompany
for a 5 year celebration.
if I miss my plane, its because I have melted and fallen asleep here 🖤 #tecompany
Lovely tea break @tecompany
today. Excellent tea and food with impeccable service. Always a pleasure.
I'm constantly amazed by how sweet a tea can be on it's own. The Blossom Dearie had a kind of roasted honey flavor to it . Very comforting.

I have a particular liking for Oolong--and Iron Goddess is one of my faves. Iron Goddess Oolong from Té Company: the best!

The Pineapple Linzer cookies from @tecompany
are INCREDIBLE! Sweet, salty, spicy, buttery, nutty, and with a lovely texture! You can order a cookie while there or pre-order a box of 6 to pickup at their teahouse in the Village. I am a cookie fanatic and these are so delicious. They describe them on the website this way: “[O]ur take on the traditional Taiwanese pineapple cake. Pineapple jam is sandwiched between two discs of hazelnut shortbread then finished with lime zest and sea salt. We only make limited amounts per day so they stay fresh and delicious.” They don’t mention the spicy heat, but it is perfection with it. I am going to have to take a break from gushing over this teahouse soon. It’s almost embarrassing. But, it was just such a wonderful experience in every respect, as this and my previous posts attest. (Also, the box my pre-ordered 6 cookies were packed in was very elegant yet simple. Love it! Swipe to see.)
Yesterday I had a fabulous experience @tecompany
in Greenwich Village. The space is very inviting and relaxing (see my previous post), the people who work there are incredibly helpful and kind, and there is a lovely tea menu. I had an exceptional Oriental Beauty Reserve. First and second infusions were complex, fruity, floral, and had a thick mouthfeel (especially the second). I bought some so I hope to more carefully evaluate it soon. (Swipe through to see the leaves up close after second infusion.) Also shout out to the CHEF! They served a number of little bites and one bigger “lunch” or meal option. I basically just asked for the vegetarian version of the meal on the menu. It was inexplicably delicious, somehow greater than the sum of its parts. Sticky rice with avocado, a marinated and amazing soy-marinated egg, what looked like green tomatoes (which were somehow just the thing), other things I didn’t identify (lol), and cilantro. (I am Team Cilantro, for the record.) I should have asked more questions about all the ingredients. But, I was too busy enjoying the experience! If you are in, near, or can visit NYC, Té Company is a must!
Last week, we had the wonderful Elena Liao, founder of @tecompany
, join #WhyFoodPodcast
in the studio to share her inspiring path. Before carving out her own niche as a tea ambassador, she spent most of her career working as a merchandise planner for some of the top fashion retailers in the country. Even though Elena enjoyed her full-time job, she felt a calling to explore her lifelong love of tea and left her corporate career behind to eventually launch a Taiwanese tea room that serves to welcome and educate tea drinkers of all kinds. Tune in to hear more of Elena’s entrepreneurial story, the most rewarding parts of managing her retail brand and the cultural history of tea. Our podcast is officially live on Heritage Radio Network, Apple Podcast and Stitcher Radio. Please take a listen and let us know your thoughts! Link in bio.
We are on a beverage streak this season! This Thursday we are super excited to welcome Elena Liao, founder of Té Company, an intimate tea house in West Village to the podcast. Elena is an Economics major who spent years in the retail world — working at Ann Inc, L Brands, Saks Inc and Victoria’s Secret — before taking the plunge in 2012 to pursue her childhood love: tea. Growing up in Taiwan, Elena always remembered with great fondness drinking oolong tea with her family and she intends to bring that same passion to her customers at Té Company. Please join us as we talk about the burgeoning industry of tea, what constitutes a proper tea tasting, the challenges of a new entrepreneur with a brick-and-mortar and more! If you have any questions for Elena, please tell us here and we will ask her live!
This spicy pineapple linzer cookie (a.k.a. “New York's Best Cookie”, according to Saveur) is so delicious that you have to taste it bite by bite to fulfill your palate with all the complexity of flavors and passion, the ingredients that Mr. @Frederico
Ribeiro puts on it. For more than 2 years that I don’t taste it at the source, the beautiful cozy tiny tea shop @TeCompany
, in West Village. But, fortunately, @lutrajano
brings me some boxes when she’s around - although, by these days, she and our Benjamim bean inside her eat half of the supply. Oh, and they travel well. The cookies, i mean. Or the part that arrives... Obrigado Fred and @Elenatliao

taiwanese oolongs and sunday morning jazz 🎷
Finally got to try @tecompany
for the first time a few weeks ago and I have to say — it did not disappoint. Here’s their asparagus with a lemon aioli and shaved bottarga 😍
Had my first tea room experience in NY and I LOVED it! Te Company is tucked under an apartment building in West Village. They serve traditional Taiwanese tea, each made with care and precision. We ordered the Iron Goddess tea, Frozen Summit Reserve tea, Poached Octopus and Pineapple Linzer (amazing and a must try! We ended up ordering a box of 6 to bring home!)

Travelling is fun but what’s not fun is being jet lagged and wide awake at this ungodly hour. Mind you it happens to me in normal times. Perhaps I should get up and make myself some tea 😊 .

This was a random find on yelp on a rainy Sunday, and it was beyond our expectations! The space is small but cozy, and staff is very friendly. Lovely place to catch up with a friend, chat over a pot of oolong & a piece of cheesecake 👯♀️ @orchidlee
날씨도 좋았구, 말잘통하는 친구도 만났구,차맛도 끈내주고, 기분좋았던 시간✨
Here is a tea house full of Taiwan love.
There are the Taiwanese braised pork over rice and the Taiwanese teas.
A cushion made of Taiwanese textile is so cute.
