Been busy today working on marketing materials for a wellness event that I am exhibiting and speaking at next month. 📣🌻 Telling our story is powerful no matter what our condition. Your story may just be the words that somebody else needs to hear on their chronic journey. By speaking up and speaking out, you don't just help and support fellow warriors but you raise that all important awareness and educate those around you. 📣🌻 Be brave, be bold and speak out!!!
Not the best quality video, but it does show you some of my process from my new collection, Bite My Tongue. Visit the link in my bio to sign up for my email list to hear about the collection in its entirety!! ✨✨

Last week I worked for a repeat client. Before we met, I explained that my rates have gone up... just in case she wasn’t willing to work with me. You know what she said? She told me I was worth it. That her home was worth it. That I am so GOOD at what I do and worth every penny. She even tipped me! Why am I telling you this? We under value our homes and what they do for us. We think it’s not worth our money and time. We’d rather eat a meal out than invest in the place that shelters us from life outside the doors. Invest in it... you’re worth it. Your family is worth it. All the people that find themselves under your roof for comfort, for fun, for a meal... they’re worth it. Investing in your home is investing in people. And you can never, ever go wrong with that. 😎
"With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them..." Acts 4:33⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you want God's grace to be so powerfully at work in you that it changes the world? Then TALK ABOUT WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR YOU. Testify to what He has resurrected in your life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you are not experiencing the power of God's grace in your life, chances are you have forgotten what He has done for you. The Israelites were prone to forget and God literally moved the ocean for them. We think that it is so unimaginable to forget miracles like that but the truth is, we do it all the time. We get to experience God's grace all. over. again. every time we remember what He's done for us. Gratitude + remembrance changes our perspective, and by doing so it changes our atmosphere, our environments, and has the potential to change the world around us. What has He done for you that you haven't talked about in a while? Try to share your story with ONE person today. And let that GOOD grace wash over you once more. We don't deserve it. But He lavishes it upon us anyway. Feels like HEAVEN.
T-1 week from BOLC:
If you know a little bit about my story you know why I choose to become an Army Officer (active or not). 14yrs years ago, my dad passed away from Cancer (retired 22yrs E8). He told me Corey if you go into the Army go in as Officer.. so I did just that, not really understanding things throughout life! But now as I’m 23, knowing who I am, having clarity in my life and knowing that God has bigger calling on me than just the Army. I’m excited to step into that role of becoming that leader to help develop people in all areas of their life and not just making them a better person while in just in uniform. That’s the key aspect lot of leaders really miss when trying to develop soldiers in the military. But I say all that to tell you guys there’s no perfect timing to step into who your supposed to become. Real leadership has no age. Understand your journey and walk into it!
Summer’s candy makes the most beautiful color palette of muted blues, berry and pinks, don’t you think? I loved spending the day picking blueberries with @donovanfiaretti
at Stutzman’s Farms a few Saturdays ago. My grandma always had the best blueberry bushes and every single summer we’d come home from her house with buckets and buckets of berries. Although she had to sell her house last year (because at 94 it didn’t seem right to have her living alone) we will forever carry on this tradition in our family. ❤️ No farm can top her berries, but her memory will forever be in every pick.
Getting ready to put some more layers down before heading to the beach this afternoon. Gotta love New England
Finally took the photos from this girl’s birthday weekend off of my SD card. Sometimes I wonder what my favorite age/stage is going to be when it’s all said and done. I hope to learn to embrace and appreciate them all. I do love new, tiny little babies but so far I think the year and a half from 6 to 24 months has been my favorite—the smiles, the new “tricks,” the energy and personality that start to shine through—still a baby, but a more independent and communicative one. I can’t wait to see what this second year looks like for Dahlia; I had so much fun with Everest when he was one. I also wonder about the “dreaded “teen years. So many people have told me they were the toughest (others have said it was the newborn stage but both my babies were easy peasy). Since all of my professional experience has been with adolescents, I wonder if teenagers will hit me as hard. So far, the twos and threes have given me a run for my money. I guess time will tell! What was/has been your favorite stage and why? Share in comments!
First of all, share, it brings all the good people in the world to give you some strength you never thought you had
The loss of a mother, of any loved one; must hurt without comparison; but you know... If you are still here, living? The strength to keep going, should come from living for all the ones you lost.
Powerful thought right there, to be a positive influence for my self. Who can relate? ❤️ .
As a young homeschooling mom with parents on hospice, it's no wonder I thought of others first. You could even say I never gave my self a thought. And that's how a lot of us were raised - thinking it's better to prefer others, to be self-sacrificing. 😬 .
Don't get me wrong, I feel most alive when I help others find freedom. What was missing was me. In my complete focus on others, I bypassed the very important step of my own self. 🙄 .
That kind of thinking led to some serious health issues. Fortunately, I was able to back out of those rather quickly. The mindset changes tend to take longer, even with persistent and intentional practice. 🙏 .
I'm excited about gathering like-minded people who want to encourage one another to improved wellness. I'd love to have you join me. Are you in? 🙋
What do we think of this colour palette for a new branding project in working on? It’s almost done so stay tuned for the logo!
May We All Heal
Day 27: Surrender
Give in to the process of grief. Surrender the highs, when you don't feel constantly weighed down, and surrender to the lowest lows. The times you can't see past the pain. Lean into it all. Let it have its time.
Do I need to say anything more? BE YOU and get to it today! Not tomorrow but right now.
It’s my “Mattress Buddy”!! 🛏🤣 Yes, it’s what I call her because we shared a blow up in a house completely full of over 50 people having the time of our lives 🤗 Man, the incredible souls I’ve met on this journey of mine is such a blessing. Nicole, I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of your accomplishments and to call you my friend❤️ Congrats on your amazing progreas in life girl and can’t wait to hug you next!
Check out her story... "From March 31st to literally today. 20lbs difference 😳 a dear friend got married in March, and I wore this dress, which I love. And it wasn’t until I was tagged in this picture today that I really SAW how far I’ve come. And please don’t take that as me being boastful or bragging. But y’all, I’ve WORKED and if I wanna be proud of that, I will be! 💪🏼🙌🏼
I remember how I felt on the left. I remember worrying if I could fit in this dress when I went to grab it out of my closet. I remember worrying if my feet and hands would swell, or will I be able to control myself around the desserts. When you’ve been in the mental state I was in for so long, those are constant worries☹️. Not anymore. Never again is more like it. I refuse to do that to myself again. I finally understand that in order to love others the way they deserve it, I must first love myself 💗 and when I finally decided to let those chains of self abuse and self doubt fall...well, she’s the girl on the right.
It was hard work. No quick fixes. No magic pills. No wraps. I sweat, A LOT. Used the tools I’ve been blessed to be given when it comes to nutrition, and put my own oxygen mask on first.
Friends, I’m free. And this is just the beginning 🎉” Nicole, your AMAZING and your a light in my world 💕
Sharing another book that I treasure from my #memoir
stash (are your bookshelves as overflowing as mine...??) 🤭 This one's got insights from some mainstream & some surprising first-person writers, including the inimitable Sue Monk Kidd, who writes: “At its best, writing draws from the inner life, from a place deep within where we are sourced. We could call it the life of the soul. This place is filled with so much genius—an ordinary genius that’s common to us all. It’s the room where our dreams and imagination live. It’s where our wisdom lies, where memories are metabolized, images are born, and creative connections are made. I see it as an inner reservoir. I think there’s even divinity in it—something beyond our egos and our conscious selves. I’m talking about the contemplative life, of course, which is, for me, a significant part of the writing life.” Amen. 📚📖❤️

All progress takes place outside the comfort zone.✨
A few years ago our #ladyboss
took a leap of faith, went outside her comfort zone and began to expand the Effortless Style team. For years she was a one-woman show, but she always knew she wanted to be a company of many women helping others find their style too. You can read more about Katie and her story behind Effortless Style over on the blog! What’s something you’ve done outside your comfort zone? Share with us your success story, we’d love to hear it! 🙌🏼💫
Put the YOU in the work you DO. ⠀
Stories from our Staff--- Benjamin was brought in to get his puppy shots. The breeder told the owner that he was an "Apple Head Chihuahua." But he actually had Hydrocephalus, which is a condition of incomplete skull formation with fluid pushing on the brain. His owner was scared and confused. She didn't think she could care for Benjamin so she allowed ABC staff members (who knew more about his condition and care) take him for a few days. Sadie took him home for a night and that's all it took for her to fall in love with him. The owner was grateful that Sadie wanted to keep him. She knew he'd get all the care he deserved with Sadie as his new owner. Sadie says, "I loved him and took him to his veterinary visits to monitor his brain and symptoms. He had a happy life even though it was usually spent moving in circles. His medicine helped limit the seizures. He reached about 8 months old when he passed from complications from his condition. He found his way into many hearts, teaching us patience and most importantly he taught me to love with all my heart --even when it doesn't last long." #staffstories #storiesfromourstaff #tellyourstory #everyonehasastory #storiestotell #story #lessons #abc #spay #neuter #waco #vettech #vetlife #chiuhahuasofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #love #loveyourdog #doglover #chihuahualover #chihuahua #sweetboy #goodlife #dogood #begood #takecare #vetcare
