Happy Dasara to all those celebrating!
These are some of the Dasara festival special dishes prepared at home today. Hope you will enjoy seeing them!
Starting from left to right-
☘️ South Indian special vegetarian kurma (video recipe of this will be shared soon)
☘️ Kadle Usali ( Channa Sundal) - To make this usali, I have soaked the kadle overnight so that they are easier to pressure cook. Next, I have pressure cooked the usali with some salt in the same soaked water. For the tempering, I have taken a teaspoon of oil in a pan and added mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped green chillies and curry leaves. I have added this tempering to the black chickpeas and mixed it by adding some lemon juice, grated coconut and coriander leaves.
☘️ Chandrahara - It is a trademark dessert of MTR served only on Sundays. Made this dish with fresh homemade khoa.
It was my husband’s birthday this month and i couldn’t prepare anything special for him because we were traveling and I was sick. This is his all time favorite dish and he has a lot of memories associated with MTR and Chandrahara. And it was a delight for me to watch him devour each bite of it. Every time he took a bite of it, he closed his eyes with happiness and ate the dish. It was worth all the efforts😅
