Now THIS is a welcomed sight... I love seeing how new life breaks through after these long winters! ~ Calgary, Alberta. #explorealberta
Jupiter on the right and the one meteor I caught from the Lyrid meteor shower on the weekend. 🌌
This is Lionel. He stopped on his bike today asking where I am going with my huge backpack. I tell him about my journey. He was about to take off when I asked: what's that sign on the back of your bike? I am a volunteer with Parc Lineaire le Petit Train du Nord. I got a first aid kit and tools in my bags in case a rider needs assistance. I am riding the trail three times a week. We are asked to ride for three hours but I ride it all day. I asked him, as he asked me the same question before: Why are you doing this? It's fun, he responds. I meet people and I do excersise while being outside. He smiles. Me too and I look at him saying: You know our reasons to be on this trail are quite the same.
I met Lionel a bit later on the trail as I sat exhausted on a bench. He stopped again and told me that there is a Cafè not even a km away. He asked, can I buy you a lunch? Now I sit here at the Cafè sending him a quiet thank you while enjoying a treat and a good rest. It's amazing what people would do for another when they stop and talk. He is one beautiful story of so many I encounter in my journey.
This Great Grey Owl was such a joy to photograph last month! I could not have asked for better lighting conditions or weather. Almost every branch was covered in a light layer of hoarfrost which resulted in a ‘chilling’ image. I particularly love the look of the desaturated background along with the owls piercing yellow eyes 👀! This image was captured with my #d810
and the Nikon 200-500mm lens giving me the “reach” necessary to photograph this owl. Additionally, my RRS tripod helped stabilize the shot.

Beautiful week to get some hiking in. Starting to get too hot out but for now it's still a good time. Heading to Tofino/Ucluelet tomorrow...any must see places there or on the way there?
Handsome stellar Jay at Rithets Bog.
Just because the bears are out, doesn't mean I've forgotten about the little critters!! Columbian Ground Squirrel loving the sunshine.

Itching to get back out on the speed machine. Today is the day! But where to go....
I waited patiently for 15 minutes for a couple taking selfies to move on so I could get this shot. Felt so blessed to get a beautiful warm day to explore Banff!
Follow me into the woods. 🌲
“But she never puts the location”
Alright so let’s talk about it, I’ve explained on previous IG stories as to why I don’t.
I think for me being social on “social” media is much more effective then just grabbing a location from my page. I spend time finding the places, looking for new trails. So out of that I will have no problem telling you but you gotta do something for me! How about introducing yourself, say hello, I want to know you! I am not a terrible person for wanting that out of me giving you a location am I?
I love interacting with people, I am a social butterfly 🦋 I have met so many rad people on here and it’s a breathe of fresh air to know so many like myself. The future is bright I can feel it. I hope you guys have a great day 🌿
I miss the winter in the summer and the summer in the winter. Who else has this problem?
