A very Happy Birthday to my brother Andrew! 🐯
It’s rare to meet a soul as bright and brave as his. An adventurer in every sense of the word. Not only when he is on the road, but when he sets down roots, he still relishes everyday. Pushing the borders of the world within, and outside himself. Carpe fucking diem Andrew! 🌊

The pussy willow and its colorful bark has me captivated! New plants bring many new flora to stare at for a good daydream 😂. Fun fact, the bark contains salicin, the chemical from which aspirin was first synthesized. So medicinal and dreamy... 😍
( #tbt ) I had the pleasure of traveling through #washington to #diablolake 3 weekends straight (first 2 weekends were unplanned!). Every visit was distinct with their polar opposite weather conditions. Each trip varied with their different stops en route to the lake - the beauty of traveling without an itinerary.
( 1st visit ) 12/23/17 — First pair of photos show clear skies and sunset colors painting the tips of the mountains. Our breaths were taken away during the drive and at the outlook post. We definitely didn't expect the freezing temperatures (rookie mistake from 2 people who came from warm climates) and were freezing when we treaded through ankle high snow.
( 2nd visit ) 1/1/18 — Second pair was during an astonishingly sunny day with the tops of the mountains dressed in Christmas snow. This visit proved to be the most unbelievable (part of it was from lack of sleep after the new year fireworks, but most of it was because of the sights ... I want to believe). I thought we were driving through desktop wallpapers. The outlook parking lot was inaccessible with knee high snow (well, for me, it was nearly thigh high). I was better dressed for this than my first visit but my toes were still frozen and my phone shut off from the cold.
( 3rd visit ) 1/6/18 — Third pair was from my solo drive and the lake showed off a different side of beauty with thick fog coating over mountaintops and coasting over the frozen lake (not seen in these shots, but I promise to share them soon!). GPS will tell you the drive from Downtown Seattle to the lake is roughly 2.5 hrs, but this adventurer/pretend-Planet-Earth-filmer took plenty of stops along the way. I think I doubled/tripled the length of the drive. WA is too beautiful to just drive through without exploring!

I don’t really like drawing, because you can’t erase the lines. I like painting layers of color that take more time. I like to create tiny worlds on pieces of wood... worlds that send your brain on a trip and leave your body behind. Dream worlds that can free your mind. 👇
I am stoked to travel to Denver next week to live paint at the @siasnowsports booth at OR. I will be finishing up this painting pictured! Stop in and say hello if you’re there ✌️
Accepted a job offer to design drone motors in Bend, OR. After five years of living in Corvallis, it’s time to step out of comfortable and go be wildly adventurous. Here’s to dragging @lisseyressler and our flipping big ass dog across the mountains to a place I love. If you’re in the area, come visit. Bring an adventure and we’ll provide a shower and a meal afterwards.
