🍃LIVING AWAY FROM HOME🍃
When I first arrived in Montréal I was a mix of terrified and excited... I immediately fell in love with the city! The first few weeks were awesome: it was sunny, there were a lot of activities outdoors, people were happy and smiling... And then; real life started. College, bills, groceries, living alone when your whole life you’ve been surrounded by your family and friends!
I’m not gonna lie: it was hard. And even now, a few months later, I’m still struggling with keeping my 💩together.
I’m not in a program I love, my english is not the best, I don’t have a lot of friends, I miss home and the people I love, I can’t afford to travel the world (yet), but I’m certain that I have to go through this phase to be aware of what I have and what I’m becoming.
And now, I think about when I arrived here and it seems so far away. And I really cannot wait to go back home.
BUT, the things I enjoy the most about living away from home (and on my own) is that you get to discover yourself, discover what you like, how you react to everyday life situations, your ability to get out of your comfort zone and how many Netflix shows you can watch in one night 😉. Anyways, life’s great, it gets shitty sometimes, but it’s fine because we all go through it. (And in the end, we all die, so might as well enjoy it as much as we can?)

🎃31st OF OCTOBER🎃
Tonight, I’m spending my first Halloween in Canada! It’s an important celebration for the northern Americans, and is believed to be a $1-billion industry in Canada, making it the second most commercially successful holiday behind Christmas. 👻Do you celebrate Halloween this year or believe it has become too much of a commercialized celebration?

🚇 METRO MONTREAL 🚇
The metro (subway) is really convenient and extremely well organized in Montreal. There are 4 lines: green, blue, yellow and orange. A 5th one ( pink line) is expected in 2025! A one trip ticket is 3.25 c$.
🚲 CYCLING IN MONTREAL 🚲
Montreal is one of the top bicycle-friendly cities in the world according to gobiking.ca! Indeed, this city has bike lanes everywhere! You can rent a bike anywhere thanks to @biximtl
in the whole city! And little tip: renting a bixi on Sundays is actually free!
🎨A MORNING AT THE MUSEUM🎨
Le « Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal », or Montreal Museum of Fine Arts is a must see!
It is the largest museum of the city (four buildings in total), and has a total of 43,000 artworks.
The MBAM welcomes new expositions every 4 months in addition to the permanent collection. Now and until the 24th of February, Alexander Calder’s art is exposed!🖼 🖌
🍂OCTOBER IN MONTREAL🍂 I was very surprised by the diversity of this city. Montreal is a big city in which there is a lot of skyscrapers, bars, restaurants, and also, a lot of greenery. 10 minutes away from Downtown Montréal, there is « Le Mont-Royal », which is the biggest park of Montreal. I recommend this spot if you’re looking for a place to relax or hang out with your family and friends!
