Earlier this year @gfsmithpapers
took the team to visit the James Cropper paper mill, where @colorplan_papers
is created! In our first video, we take a look at the process of turning pulp into the iconic paper!
Still can’t believe we’ve put the deposit down on our dream Wedding venue! I was all “meh I wanna do all these festive days out but I can’t” then I shook myself and reminded myself that the reason I can’t is cause I’m saving for the most exciting day of my lil life! Duh, El! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Force of Nature 🐑🖤🐑
You’ll know of them by now, they are that lovely breed of sheep with the soft alabaster faces and quizzical looks that have received quite the cult following in recent years. Herdwick sheep are native to the English Lake District and can be found nibbling their way steadily across the hillside.
Growing up as the daughter of a mountaineer I remember many a tale of my father being called out by the Mountain Rescue or the local farmer to help retrieve one or more of these lovelies from the various precarious predicaments they had managed to get themselves in to high up on remote cliff ledges.
It is precisely their rugged existence however, living at high elevations and coping with harsh weather conditions that make the Herdwick’s rich wool fibres quite unique; soft yet extremely durable and water-repellent, ideal for creating a fabric that is both natural and sustainable and suitable for making a bag of the highest quality. #ruskintweed #herdwick #herdwick #herdwicksheep #wool #britishwool #naturalfabrics #naturalfibers #sustainable #sustainabledesign #design #provenance #craftsmanship #thelakedistrict #yorkshire #italianexcellence #luxurybag #newluxury #lifestylechoicec
The Arts and Crafts Houses of The Lake District, No.1: 'Nanny Brow', Clappersgate, Ambleside, Cumbria.
Photograph number 4: The view from the sitting room into the hall.
Architect Francis Albert Whitwell (1871-1943) designed Nanny Brow as his new family home soon after marrying in 1902. Completed in 1904, this simple three gabled house is situated in a beautiful woodland setting, providing glorious panoramic views of a forest, crag and the River Brathay. Within the last fifteen years, it has been rescued from dereliction and sensitively restored by its current owners, who utilise its charms as a very successful, small 5 star hotel.

I’ve had the best day hiking Loughrigg with a school load of kids. Listening to them giggle away, hearing snippets of their conversations, watching the way they engage with each, observing how present they are, seeing how quickly they forgive each other, these kids can teach us a thing or two. The scenery was pretty awesome too! #lakedistrictlife #loughrigg #hikingthelakes #thelakedistrict #lovemyjob #lakesyoga
"Some Christmas tree ornaments do more than glitter and glow, they represent a gift of love given a long time ago." 🎄.... ...I love to have ornaments on our tree that have a special meaning. We bought two of these steam trains from Ambleside while in The Lakes in Autumn. It was a beautiful week away and not only do these remind us of all the special moments from that holiday... our first steam train journey together was a few years ago in The Lakes, so they have an extra special significance.
Waiting for those toothpaste kisses
Stood at the base of Napes Needle looking back to Wastwater and how far we’d trekked 😅🧗🏻♂️ #dalesandlakes
