Authenticity at its finest. Sharing a smile... despite it all. A smile, at times can hide so much pain that lurks within... There’s a saying that goes along the line of “the prettiest smile hides the deepest secrets, the prettiest eyes have cried the most tears... the kindest hearts have felt the most pain.” -Unknown. But I choose to shift this perspective to “Don’t smile to hide the pain, smile to heal the pain.” According to a random search online, in 2010 there was a study done where making yourself smile when you’re feeling down helps improve the mood and increase positive thoughts. Smiling also releases endorphins, which not only improves your mood, but also helps you to relax, and overall is good for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. That’s not all, smiling can be contagious, which I believe this to be true as the benefits of your smile goes beyond your own body to the people you engage with... smiling to heal. XO. . .
