Things like: brain space, connection, emotional release.

💡 When you interact with the world, you interact with all of you; the conscious and subconscious parts of you (your mood, your reactions, your tendencies, your scientifically observable energy field, your body language...) 💡
This means that if you have pain/unresolved issues in one area, say, money, or romantic relationships, you are approaching all of the world and people you cross paths with on this topic with all the conscious and subconscious weight you are carrying. And of course, if you struggle internally - conscious or subconscious - with that very topic, then it will becomes a struggle to create a different reality external to you; in the end, the internal relationship we have to a concept/person/being/etc will naturally be mirrored in the world outside of us. Going in to heal what we don’t like about ourselves allows us to literally interact with the world differently 🙏🏻

Self-compassion is a critical component in healing. Everyone has critical thoughts about themselves sometimes. The goal is not to “never ever have another negative thought again”- you’re human!- rather it’s learning to change this inner dialogue, to infuse it with more compassion & kindness.
A few years ago, a colleague shared this insight with me about “inner critics” being young parts and it’s helped me to be more kind with mine.
Often when we hear these critical voices- they’re loud, they’re mean, & they can make us feel small. If you can step back for a minute & think about when this voice developed. You were likely young, thus this inner critic is a young part of you, too.
I often imagine the 2nd grade bully. That bully was HUGE when I was six, but as an adult, I can view that 2nd grader as a scared kiddo who likely just needed a lot of love, some boundaries & a few true friends.
The same way I view the 2nd grade bully differently, it helps me to be kinder to my own inner critics. I can take a deep breath & remember I’m an adult & I’m talking to a young part of me. If we can respond with kindness- not beat ourselves up for having a negative thought. We can listen: what’s really going on? Why is this inner critic feeling the need to be so mean?
Kindness & compassion are often the anecdotes we need. We can show love to this young bully, we can befriend our inner critics. It’s not easy but there is value in learning to accept and make peace with ALL the parts of us.
And if you’re having a really tough time & feel like you’re “getting beat up” by your inner critic- try calling a trusted friend or discuss it with a therapist. Sometimes we need another human to help us to get some perspective! It’s a process, and that’s okay, too!
Wishing you, and ALL the parts of you, more peace and kindness today.

Mi sa che devo sposare una collega, altrimenti sono destinato a trattarmi da solo 🤷🏻♂️💆🏻♂️
Why are you settling for good enough? *
Saying something is good enough is like giving yourself permission to be stuck in a space that you should really be growing in
Take inventory of your life, and ask yourself- how many things are good enough? Now go back and ask yourself, would you feel more fulfilled if they were
g r e a t ? *
If you answered yes, then don’t wait- choose one thing you can do TODAY to make it change in any of those areas
You’ve got this, babe 😉
Take that all in and believe in your success!!!
Depression types continued... Cyclothymic disorder
Cyclothymic disorder is often described as a milder form of bipolar disorder. The person experiences chronic fluctuating moods over at least two years, involving periods of hypomania (a mild to moderate level of mania) and periods of depressive symptoms, with very short periods (no more than two months) of normality between. The duration of the symptoms are shorter, less severe and not as regular, and therefore don't fit the criteria of bipolar disorder or major depression.
The symptoms of dysthymia are similar to those of major depression but are less severe. However, in the case of dysthymia, symptoms last longer. A person has to have this milder depression for more than two years to be diagnosed with dysthymia.
These are broadly all the types of depression. And all are treatable depending upon severity is the duration of the therapy and medication if necessary.
