I remember the date well: 23rd May 2015, the day I attended the interview of Infosys and I don’t know how but I got selected. There were so many candidates with more experience and better qualification than mine but I don’t know why did they choose me. Maybe because after getting rejected from so many interviews I knew how to answer that freaking HR’s sitting behind a huge desk all set to suck every drop of blood from your body.
. They had given me 15 days to prepare all the required documents. And now the day has came when I’m finally going to join one of the biggest MNC Company in India.
. Bangalore was just 5 hours bus journey from our village. I got on the bus, put my luggage on the upper rack and got the window seat. I love having window seats. A window seat with earphones plugged in playing your favourite song and having something to eat can make a best combination ever.
. The bus was almost empty. There were only a couple of boys and a fat lady sitting on the back seat. By looking at that lady I remembered my grandmother. She and I used to go to market by bus when I was young and when she passed away three years ago, I was completely stunned for almost a month. Suddenly the driver applied brakes and with a shock I came back to reality.
. ‘Ticket Ticket Ticket! Haan sir kidhr jana hai apko?’ the bus conductor said in his Tamil excent
. ‘One ticket of Majestic, Bangalore’ I said
. On the next stoppage, I got down from the bus to buy something to eat. I bought a packet of Lays, a cream biscuit and a bottle of Pepsi.
. When I came back, I saw a Punjabi uncle with huge white beard sitting on my seat. He was tying a turban and was probably in his 70’s.
. I went to him and said, ’Uncle this is my seat’
to be continued😊
