Step : 1. Take a pan to add shredded carrot, and roast it on medium high heat for 10 min. 2. It will change its colour after some time. Then add sugar and mix it well. 3. Keep mixing on medium-high heat. 4. Till that time take a bowl and add some khoya in it and add milk 1/2 cup and whisk it nicely. 5. Then add this khoya into the carrot and mix it well. 6. After 5 min. Add milk and dry fruits .give it a nice mix and cover the pan and let it cook for another 15 min. 7. Keep stirring in between. Add a spoon of ghee/ tup. 8. After cooking it will start to become thick and will start to release oil 9. Then turn off the heat. And your Yummy Gajar ka halwa is ready to eat. Caution: Diabetic, High BP Patients avoid it. Suspect you have hormone imbalances?  But you go to the doctor and they do blood work only to have them tell you that everything looks “normal”? But you feel like a hormonal mess?😣♀️ .. I HAVE BEEN THERE!  And it is the most frustrating thing ever to not feel like yourself but have no answers as to why.  Your doctor isn’t listening?  They simply prescribe you the pill or antidepressants to help you manage your symptoms?🤔 .. During my own health journey I was told multiple times that everything looked normal but I knew I didn’t feel normal.  It wasn’t until I started getting proper functional testing done that I finally started to see imbalances that others have missed.  Testing is just ONE piece of the healing puzzle but it is important because it helps to customize what you do to address the issues.📋🗝 .. One mistake I see being made is that testing is not being done at the right time of the month.  In fact my doctor didn’t even ask me where I was in my cycle when I had my labs done.  Does this even matter?  YES is absolutely matters.  Why?  Because your hormones are never the same for the entire month.  They are constantly fluctuating.  So how do you know yours is normal if you don’t know which phase you are in? .. I use @dutchtest in my practice which is a urine based test and provides much more information than blood.  My clients take their test around 5-7 days before their periods start.  This is in the middle of the Luteal phase is where progesterone peaks.  A good surge can indicate that ovulation is normal.  This is also the time of the month that estrogen increases for the second time.  So testing during this phase allows you to see progesterone and estrogen peaking together.  Because they make a good team.  If they aren’t working together during this time that is when the PMS, irritability, heavy periods, light periods, acne, poor sleep can pop up. .. FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is done via blood.  It is the hormone released by your pituitary gland in your brain.  It stimulates the ovary to produce an egg.  That “good" egg will release certain hormones that will then lower FSH.  If the egg quality is compromised then those hormones won’t

I bet this will shock you! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ While there's no cookie-cutter answer, here's what I know..⁣ ⁣ ⁣ The body has a certain protocol to keep you alive & functioning.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ If you haven't eaten anything for awhile, your blood sugar starts to dip.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ In response, the liver releases stored glycogen to balance blood sugar. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ What if there's no stored glycogen? 😬⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Well....the adrenals start pumping adrenaline to keep you going. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ You may have found yourself at the office or running errands feeling run down, sluggish and brain foggy..⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Then, the next minute, without eating, you find your second-wind. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ That's the adrenaline. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ While this is great when you're in a pinch, it's not something you want to make a habit. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ The best thing you can do is schedule meals, keep snacks on hand, and eat every 1-1/2 to 2 hours. 🤤⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Your body will thank you! 🙏⁣ ⁣ ⁣ So, how often are you eating?? ⤵️

Day 17: Sarah here with shameless cute tot sharing 🙋🏼‍♀️ . I have been craving seafood and luckily the local grocery had shrimp and salmon on sale yesterday! My kiddo simply CANNOT get enough of the salmon skin! Me? Ehhh, it’s scaly... 😆 Cooked up a pound of salmon and heated up a left over ribeye for dinner. By the time dinner rolled around I was ravenous, so this was probably the most meat I’ve been able to put away in one sitting. I was also shocked to wake up hungry this morning after that feast. Ended up eating a relatively large breakfast too...then was hungry for lunch and am feeling something for din din. Have a feeling this is cycle related as I usually have an increase in appetite before I start my period. Y’all have seen me share papaya so frequently on here.. but for good reason! I swear by incorporating this fruit into our daily eating. It is truly so healing in so many ways. It’s a GOOD thing because we need to get the shit out- figuratively and literally. 😂 That’s a huge symptom of detoxing and you shouldn’t fear it by any means. It’s just apart of the process and we should honestly be grateful that it happens because our bodies are literally discarding poisons, toxins, bacteria, pathogens, etc OUT so that it can truly start healing. Real talk. The reality of ongoing detox isn't pretty. You sweat. The sweat stinks bad. Your poop smells beyond awful. You get fevers, chills, and all sorts of debilitating symptoms. After. And before. I came to the USA, found cancer, and all the doc gave me was this tiny scar. Plus pills and bills and scares and prayers. But, my scar is a good one. Even other docs have mentioned how well my surgeon did. Today I got results of the RAI treatment and scans and got a clean-ish bill of health. Clean enough to go back to #Djibouti anyway! She changed my med dose so we’ll see how I do with that. I will do some follow ups in Kenya and will be back to Minnesota in a few months to check on a suspicious lymph node but for now...I’m going home. With this little scar and a bottle of pills to remember this season by. I also have a heart that has grown in empathy and care for those with cancer and anyone who has a chronic condition. I took health for granted. Never again. We are all the walking wounded, in one way or another. This week I am focusing on Thyroid health and yesterday I discussed how liver and gut function can affect the thyroid 🤷🏽‍♀️. Today I will be discussing how estrogen can also play a role in thyroid function. . In a normal menstrual cycle, the beginning half of the cycle is dominated by estrogen and the second half of the cycle is dominated by progesterone. 🌟However, if there are irregularities in these hormones- too much estrogen or too little progesterone we may start to notice symptoms of estrogen dominance ‼️ . This includes: 🔻Heavy bleeding 🔻Lots of clotting 🔻Breast tenderness 🔻Mood changes around the cycle 🔻Endometriosis 🔻Fibrocystic breasts 🔻Headaches 🔻Uterine fibroids ….and more . Just like thyroid hormones (check yesterday’s post), estrogen must pass through the liver to be properly detoxified 💫. If the liver is not functioning properly, estrogen may not be detoxified and it may start to build up leading to symptoms of estrogen dominance💥. . So how is this related to the thyroid? Well, when there are ⬆️ high levels of estrogen the liver starts producing high amounts of thyroid binding globulin (TBG). TBG is a transport protein whose purpose is to bind to thyroid hormones in circulation. By binding to the thyroid hormones (T4 & T3), it decreases ⬇️ the amount of thyroid hormones that can be properly utilized by the cell. . Since there is less thyroid hormones available (because they are bound to TBG) we may start to see symptoms of low functioning thyroid 😔. Thyroid issues plague an estimated 20 million Americans to date and sadly 60% of those suffering with some type of thyroid disease are completely unaware of their condition. What’s really interesting is that while 1 in 8 women will develop a thyroid disease, they are also 5-8 times more likely to develop in women. . Any guesses why that is? If you’re stumped just take a look at the ratio of personal care products a woman uses every day compared to a man. You’ll find that on average men generally use about 6 products daily compared to women who average about 12; essentially doubling their exposure to both carcinogens and hormone disrupters that eventually lead to adrenal fatigue and trigger more serious issues autoimmune diseases like Hashimoto’s where the immune system begins attacking the thyroid, and more commonly known diseases like Hypothyroidism and Adrenal Fatigue. .
