Day 1 of blood sugar testing for gestational diabetes.
🤦🏻♀️ Yes I freaked out a little about having to do the finger prick. Labor will be just like a finger prick, right? And like I haven’t had countless needles for IVs & blood work over the last 6 years?
🙌🏻 Then I reminded myself how empowering it is that I got to make this choice for my health & the health of my baby.
Somehow, my Mum is still managing to teach and show me how to love, be loved, be resilient and strong, brave and gracious (the grace thing is new ground with my ‘bull in a China shop’ Mumma but it’s better late than never). Cancer is no joke. But it taught us grace.

Trying to stay positive. It just hurts when people make it sound like me been tired is a joke. It’s Not a joke. I am tired! I am tired of been tired! I am frustrated, irritated, upset that I feel this way! Brain fog is the worst because people look at you like you are stupid. When I try to explain myself they just laugh at me. Not funny! People, try to be kind to others. Try to not take everything as a joke. I’m blessed that this is not thyroid cancer, but I still have to deal with two chronic diseases. #bekindalways #thyroidproblems
Today was such a better day than yesterday, and I think the saline infusion really did it’s job!I’ve learned that sometimes it takes going through the bad days to really enjoy and take in every moment on the good days. I had such a fun time with two of my fav people before they start the next chapters of their lives. I am proud of myself for making it through lunch, 2 stores, and only fainting once! For people who aren’t living with chronic illnesses, that may not seem like much but I’m learning to celebrate the small victories and taking it one day at a time. I’m so grateful for these two girls . They support and take me for what I am. They’ve taken the time to learn about my illnesses and will do whatever they can to help me get through the hard days; and are there to celebrate my small victories on the good. I’m so proud of how far both of them have come in achieving their goals and overcoming every obstacle that gets thrown at them. I’m excited to see what both of you guys achieve in the next few years taking over the social work world! You will impact the lives of so many people and help them get through rough times just like you have helped me in mine. Everyone deserves to have a Jessi and Maggie in their life.💙💙💙 I mean who else gets personally made a batch of dodger cookies and matching pjs and tattoos ? This girl💁🏻♀️ Now time to rest and recharge!
Remind me why I did my makeup before attempting a cardio workout today?! That didn't last. 🤪😰😱 Between each 3 minute cardio segment I did one ab move for 10 reps (👉swipe to see👉) and then ended it by doing all back to back for 10 reps again of each.
Do yourself a favor and if you don't already own some sliders, get yourself some!! They are SO great for a variety of moves and are perfect for taking on trips! I love these little things and they are super cheap too. I grabbed mine off Amazon for like $10. 🤗

LONG POST ALERT!
This is my girl❤️
I have so much love in my heart for her and her life ahead, and, like any parent, I want to send her on a path that allows her to thrive.
I sometimes feel my voice does not have a place to share the importance of a healthy lifestyle, since I have been blessed with the healthiest of healthy pasts. But today I have to share something on my heart because of this beautiful little girl.
Today I was blessed to be a part of a group of women sharing their truths and heart breaking journeys—the ones they’ve kept private. They shared struggles with their bodies, cycles and fertility—another thing I have never struggled with. I always joked that I couldn’t risk sex before marriage because my family history was way too fertile; sure enough, I never had trouble getting pregnant. My periods have always been consistent and the whole “that time of the month” excuse never resonated, because other than minor cramping, I moved through my periods AOK.
But the last 5 years have opened my eyes to the struggles of so many, including close friends.
And today’s stories were even more eye opening to me. These women had to deal with these questions and unknowns—often from very young ages—and were guided to just put things into their bodies to simply try to regulate and create chemical balances. No guidance for putting things into their bodies that restore their bodies to a true healthy state or even talking about what that means.
I DO NOT want my Lou to go through this.
I do NOT want her to struggle in silence.
I do NOT want her to NOT understand her body.
I do NOT want her to have negative feelings about her body’s miraculous and beautiful ability to create life.
I know it’s not completely in my control, but I do believe and always will, that we have so much power in our health and what happens in our bodies and I WILL do everything to set her body up for success and be sure she KNOWS the beauty of how that works.
Chilling in singapore 🇸🇬😍😃🤗💖
Had to make a mid-week grocery run since hubby’s new bulk phase meal plan has him eating us out of house and home. 😂
The fall feels grabbed me. And sheer curiosity. There were impulse purchases. I regret nothing. 😂
And I just had this pumpkin seed bread with almond butter on it for dinner. It was everything I hoped and more. 😂
Ready for bed at 8, just so I can wake up and try this coffee.
SOUND ON 🎶.
🌽🌾 = 🎉.

Do you want to wake up one day wishing you had done that one thing you kept putting off or do you want to wake up feeling proud and accomplished because you pushed yourself towards your goals?
Training with thyroid/hormone problems can be tricky.
If you suffer from hormone issues or imbalances your body views exercise as an additional stressor.
Many suffer from hormonal issues due to the body being overwhelmed with stress for far too long.
Functional Medicine doctors refer to this often as HPA Axis. The primary function of the HPA axis is to regulate the stress response. When we experience stress, hormones and signals help balance things out. If we are creating stress over long periods of time our hormones become desensitized. When these systems are not communicating with each other we end up with hormonal imbalances.
There are many variables that cause Thyroid/Hormone issues:
Not sleeping well
Punishing body with training
Just to name a few...
If I am training someone who has thyroid issues my goal is to bring the body more into balance.
Our focus will be recuperative training...mobility, stretching, yoga, meditation and very moderate resistance training.
Nutrition and gut health are also key.
The problem lies in when clients have low thyroid and are having troubling losing weight they think, “I am going to workout even harder than before” If they have too much thyroid and feel anxious they feel some relief when working out hard so they continue to chase that “high”
Both will only make things worse!
The worst thing you could do is some type of high intensity training. (Some of you will get it, some of you won’t)
Avoid excessive exercise
Shut down inflammation
Health journey update:
You guys! I hit another new low on the scale today, which means I’ve lost 15.5 lbs in less than 9 weeks!!! 🤩 This is so incredible for me! I’ve never lost so much weight before! My body has been on a gradual but steady weight gain incline for the past 3 years due to my Hashimoto’s disease. I have struggled with my weight for all that time, dieting and exercising and all the while not seeing results. But now my body is on my side because I am giving it the nutrients and probiotics that it so desperately needed. ❤️
These 🌱plant-based supplements that I have been taking the past several months REALLY WORK! They have worked for me when nothing else has. And the best part is that I’m not only looking better, I’m FEELING better too. 🙌🏻
Gut health and blood sugar regulation are really the key to overall health. Until those are balanced, the struggle to lose weight/feel better is going to continue to be a struggle. 👇🏻
P.s... I’ve still got a few samples of my pink drink supplement for those who are curious about what these products could do for them too. 😉

After all of those tough days...today was a good day! I did half of my workout before work and finished the other half when I got home. It was so nice to have some energy at the end of the work day and blast some TSwift during my workout. I was even feeling so good after that my little gummy bear 🐻 and I had a mini dance party in the living room. Just a good reminder that the tough times don’t last forever. 💕
💥FACT: EVEN IF YOUR THYROID LABS ARE NORMAL, YOU MAY STILL HAVE A THYROID PROBLEM💥
So, you just got back your "thyroid labs" and all they say is: TSH 🙄. Your levels fall within the acceptable range and your doctor says you’re good to go.
But you K N O W you’re not.
You’ve gained an insane amount of weight without any explanation, you’re constantly feeling run down and sluggish, you wake up with unwarranted anxiety, and your brain fog leads you to forget things that makes you even more anxious! 🤯🤕😓
We’ve learned over the past few posts that TSH isn’t enough to test your thyroid function.
An elevated TSH level means your pituitary is signaling that you're low in thyroid hormone, but it doesn’t tell you what levels of hormones your thyroid is producing!
Your doctor also needs to test you for:
👉🏽Reverse T3 (an inactive form of T3)
* “free” is the useable form of these hormones
I spent a few years undiagnosed because I only had one marker tested and my thyroid diagnosis was missed completely, leading me to deal with forgetfulness, weight gain, constipation, feeling cold, and many others for *way* too long.
Also, aim for optimal thyroid ranges in your blood markers. They are much narrower and catch thyroid dysfunction sooner than “normal” reference ranges that are too broad and can often be inaccurate.
Most of us know someone who struggles with weight gain, constant fatigue, or hair loss even though their doctor say everything is A-OKAY👌🏽. If so, tag them below.
Too many people are flying under the radar and the first step to owning your health and body is acknowledging the problem.
You can change someone's life with this information—I’m just putting it out there ✌🏽

I love when people tell me they can’t eat healthy because they love Spanish food too much... WHO DOESN’T!? 🤣 I also love when people believe that “rice and beans” are a fattening/unhealthy food, when in fact, the “rice and beans” combo creates a COMPLETE PROTEIN. Switch out some ingredients for more natural alternatives and you have yourself a delicious meal! With a salad on the side! 😉
This plate not only looks delicious, it tastes delicious! Swap out the quinoa for rice- it just so happens, we made a huge pot of quinoa for this week! 🙌🏼

Did you know that the Epstein-Barr Virus could be the cause of your thyroid disorder?
A lot of the times it’s a game of which came first, the chicken or the egg? 🐓🍳Research has been showing that this very common virus, which leads to Mononucleosis (aka Mono/The kissing disease), can wreak havoc on your organs and your nervous system!
