What is a Log Home Kit?
Log home kits are log packages that contain everything that you need to erect your log home right from the beginning. An important thing to keep in mind that many elements that are a compulsory part of one company’s log home kit might not even be required in the kit of some other company.
Building a log home using a kit might cost you 1/3rd of the price of buying a finished home, depending on the package. Furthermore, kits allow you to build your house the way you want. When buying finished products, you have to be content with what you are getting at the price you are paying. Making any changes to the existing structure will add to your cost. On the other hand, you build your log home from the scratch using a kit and this helps you personalize your home according to your specific needs.
Using kits to build log homes is that you get some construction experience. By following the assembly instructions that come with the package, you can build your house with your hands even if you haven’t done that before.
It is true that the cost of building a log home will be much less when you go the kit route compared to what you have to spend on an already finished house. However, a house built with a kit is not finished. Installing the flooring, electrical materials, plumbing, etc. will eventually add up and take your costs higher. If you are good at budgeting, you can still save money on building your log home with your hands.
If you haven’t done any construction work before, you might find the process to be frustrating and if you run into problems during the construction of your home it may be a challenge. There have been numerous stories of people building their own log home kit, making a wrong cut or selecting the wrong log and having to spend days or weeks fixing their mistakes.
Regardless of your decision, the most important thing is to do your research and pull together a detailed budget and timeline.

It’s best to go off a Glosswood sample before ordering, as images can sometimes be photoshopped or have a filter. Request a colour and we will send a sample to you - email@example.com
I wasn't all that impressed with the #Arrow#shed thin #flimsy#metal the thicker the better.
Well I decided to build this nice solid door frame. The frame will support doors that open out as seen on a mini barn.
I will make the front look as close to original as possible. So it will look like the doors slide open.
I used 2 8 inch lag.bolts to secure the 4x4's the image with the small block is to show how I used the materials.
Also, the main upright 4x4's are covered with 4 inch wide x 1/2" thick. I glued them with 2 types of glue - a quality wood glue, and a 100% waterproof glue to cover 100% of surface. Weighted it down to let it set up. After several hours I then screwed the two pieces together for a solid connection.
The wood protects the metal from touching the treated wood.
I think this will make the shed a little more solid.
🥅Let’s talk about playgrounds. Big, old trees on a playground can be a delight. They provide shade, a cool breeze, home base for a game of tag, a strong arm to hold a tire swing, or the subject of some local history and folklore.
⚠️But trees can be a danger, too. The next time you are at a playground, look up. And down. Weak, old trees can lose their limbs which can not only damage the playground equipment, but more importantly, a human. Remaining stumps can be a hideout for critters and exposed roots can be a tripping hazard.
🚧If you’re the guest of a playground, and you notice these potential pitfalls, kindly let the owner know your concerns. If you are in charge of the playground (the custodian of the property or principal of a school, for example), call an expert to evaluate the risk, remove the dangers, and eliminate the possibility of liability.
