Well my week so far’s been a mixed bag of joy and stress. Which is—you know—as per usual. Here’s the Wednesday fit rundown:⠀
* I’ve had three days of workouts since coming off injury reserve. I wish I could say my comeback has been pain free, but let’s just say Ibuprofen’s been involved. I’ve LOVED working out again, but am also peeved by the pain, and never quite sure if I should move more or less. It’s messy.⠀
* I’ve been downing a gallon of water per day, in 16 oz. at a time from my thermal mug. I may never need to use chapstick again.⠀
* Still eating Asian garlic spaghetti squash noodles and refried beans (though not together) on daily repeat.⠀
* I’ve been managing stress with daily walks in the sunshine, prayer, early bedtimes, gratitude practice, and talking to myself in soothing mom tones.⠀

I have been working so hard to reach my goals. And this time I’m taking it slow. I know sometimes my expectations get ahead of me and I expect it overnight but I know that’s not how it works. I e learned to feel and take in the difference rather than see it. And that helps me more than you know. At one point i was in a size xxl yoga pant... then I held steady at xl for a while now I’m in a large fitting comfortably. That is a win with out looking at the scale. I’m only going to get stronger and more toned and I can’t wait to see the results. I love how hard I’m able to push my body... not only for my workouts but for any part of my day, work is hard sometimes but I know I got it because I am strong. Sometimes I struggle with getting stuff done in my house and with the kiddos but I get it done just to wake up and do it all again... don’t we all?!?!... I hope everyone has a wonderful day and I hope you all love your body and accept you for you. 1. green juice 4x week (at least, ideally everyday)
2. replace music for podcasts … this practice comes and goes in waves. Sometimes I become frustrated because I want to take notes, which is not very practical while I’m driving, which leads me to forgetting to listen to them while I’m walking, hanging out at home (instead of netflix, Marie Kondo doesn’t count 🤗🤗) Any recommendations are very welcome.
3. Healthy sleep time 8hrs …. can’t wait for this one!

for today’s leg and booty workout! Today’s day 3! I did well yesterday although it was super stressful! I had my 7 hour realtor class which I was able to eat my m2 and m4 in so that was great. During the class my Immigration work had a bunch of emergencies which made me come right home and work until late at night to get everything back under control. This is why meal prepping for me is an absolute must! ever? On the left were my kids when I last logged into my TIU IG account, and on the right (and some continued swiping) are them now. I cannot believe how fast they're growing. It's allowing me to understand that we all have seasons in our lives. Previously I really had to focus everything I had on them because my son started pre-K and my daughter is just well... a strong woman 😂 but they're both getting to a point where I dont have to stress over every single, tiny moment. Not saying my job is done, FAR from it. But I can at least workout with them in the room and not worry if they're going to get themselves hurt or get into (too much) trouble. So now I feel like I'm in a new season where I can focus more on growing myself and taking care of me. The kids will always come first, but now I have room for me too.
PS. Ok they can stop growing now 😭

I’ve had something on my mind for some time now, and I feel like the LYB challenge is the perfect time to share it. Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by the scale 🙋🏽♀️ (long post ahead...)
I want to talk about that dreaded “W” & “S” words- weight and scale. When I first started my health journey, I used to be SO obsessed with the scale and making sure that I wasn’t faltering from my “diet”. I would obsess every week stepping on that little piece of metal in hopes it would surprise me. Little did I know back then that losing weight takes time, so when the numbers weren’t any lower I’d get discouraged. Slowly but surely, the weight came off, but me and the scale were definitely not friends. I was so concerned that my weight and how much I had “lost” defined who I was and how successful I was in my journey.
Since joining @toneitup
and fully diving into this healthy and fit lifestyle, I’ve learned that weight DOES NOT DEFINE who you are. The scale is just a piece of plastic that tells you a silly number. I realized that yes, I have lost weight and yes I am smaller than I once was, but that word SKINNY will never come out of my mouth. I am HEALTHY and I am STRONG. I realized that we all need to stop putting so much pressure on ourselves.
Do you eat lean, clean and green meals? Do you workout everyday? Are you happy? THAT’S ALL YOU NEED. It’s all you need to focus on. I have finally gotten to the point where I don’t need the scale to define me and my journey. I work out 5 days a week and consistently eat healthier and more nutritious than I ever have. I am comfortable in my skin and feel good about how I look. As long as you feel good in the skin you’re in, that’s all that should matter.
How much I weigh means absolutely nothing to me, and it shouldn’t matter to you either. So let’s say goodbye to that little piece of plastic and focus our energy on continuing to become the absolute best versions of ourselves 💗

IT’S LISS DAY 🎉!
I touched on this in my stories this morning, but I think it’s important to reiterate here. Lauren builds in LISS/stretching days each week during 30x30 for a reason. This program is INTENSE you guys. I was perpetually sore for 30 days last year even with regular stretching. The LISS day’s (LISS = pow intensity steady state cardio) are so so so so so important for muscle recovery. If LISS isn’t your thing, a complete rest day is a-okay as well. What I wouldn’t recommend is skipping the LISS day and replacing it with something like HIIT or heavy lifting or toning or some other workout where your heart rate gets elevated. Your body needs time to recover for it to feel it’s best. This is from personal experience. I have no certifications or licenses that make me an expert on the matter 😊. Today’s workout was preview day 3 - LISS and some delicious deep stretching. Yes, I referred to stretching as delicious because it was 😂. Happy humps friends. Make it a great one. •

The struggle bus was real today. I stayed out late, was exhausted from a long workday, all the normal reasons to keep hitting snooze. But I didn’t. We are on Day 3 of transform 20, and I knew I couldn’t quit when all these ladies are doing it with me.

I’ve always loved the quote, “You teach little by what you say, more by what you do, and most by who you are”.
I actually love this quote so much I had my mom put it on a wooden sign so I could hang it in my house and read it every day. 💕 And for some reason, this morning, it stopped me in my tracks as I read it.
Our actions are important. Our words are important. But it’s the sum of everything we both do and say, and how we show up in the world through the good and the bad... that’s the imprint we leave on the world and the lives we come across each day.
So today I challenge you to be intentional with who you are and what you bring to the table.
✨Choose your actions wisely when you’re in a moment of trial.
✨Be kind with your words to others, and yourself.

When your two year old grabs your phone while you’re grocery shopping and you have no clue. 🤣 and it’s the only picture taken yesterday! 🤦🏽♀️ It was a crazy busy day yesterday. My food was barely existent, and I didn’t workout. I did record a promotional for the ministry I did last spring to be aired to the whole church this Sunday. I was a ball of nerves. I went to ladies bible study. We are studying the book of Job and it could not have come at a better time in my life. Finding joy in the suffering. Afterwards I went shopping with my little guy and prepared for the big snow storm headed our way. Came home unloaded everything. And was whooped!! I made dinner and went to bed by 8pm. I’m fully on track with nutrition after being sick, I passed up on so many unneeded indulgences during the holidays, we’ve been getting out workouts in... the list goes on
And yet these photos don’t portray how great I’ve been feeling. If anything I thought I’d reverted back to last year’s “Before”
To top it off, I got on the scale this morning and that B went up since yesterday’s perfect nutrition and workout🤔
So I’m going to practice what I preach and TRUST and BELIEVE that if I’m putting in the work, the results will follow

1 year PWR anniversary! 🎉 I am grateful that I started the PWRful journey a year ago to get stronger physically. I have always been “thin” but I wanted to be strong not skinny and @kelseywells
program has provided me the tools 🙌🏼 and inspiration to do just that. It has also helped me emotionally and mentally. Exercising is about the whole person. Transformation takes place inside and out and it’s a journey that looks different for everyone. My upper body 💪🏼 strength has improved so much. But my heart strength has also. And my self worth is continually improving, daily. It’s one choice at a time that builds a healthy lifestyle.
