Friday fun activity.
Tonight we put up our felt tree. I made this when Aiden was a toddler and the kids really enjoy me putting it back up each year. The tree is a large piece of felt cut into a triangle and stuck to the wall with command strips. I made the ornaments using cookie cutters to trace the shapes. I hot glued the pieces together and decorated with glitter glue. The felt sticks to each other so it’s easy for them to decorate over and over again. Kenzie at 20 Months was able to figure it out pretty quickly today.
Let me know if you make one yourself and tag me in your pictures. I’d love to see what you create.
ⓟⓛⓐⓨ Colourful, smooth & squishy - I mean who can resist plunging their hands in & playing with a bowl of water beads?!?! The ultimate sensory play! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 #flatmantwins #averyflatmanspring

So, I don't know about your house, but games are still a work in progress in our 🏡 The concepts of taking turns, following set directions, and keeping your game piece ♟ on your spot and not taking it off to play with while you wait are hard for toddlers
But, games 🎲 are a major life skill that teach valuable lessons. I want to be a family who plays games together, and that starts now 🧩
I simply cut up construction paper and wrote letters of each girl’s name on a square. With the remaining pieces, I added classic Thanksgiving symbols 🦃 🍁 🥧 🚣♀️ (don’t look too closely at my pumpkin pie...it looks more like a 🏀 🤣)
We took turns drawing a card. If you drew a letter, you identified the letter (L&C needed help for this) then placed in on the table. For the 🚣♀️, we acted like we were rowing a boat. For the 🥧, we acted like we were eating pie. For the 🍁 , we stood up and pretended to be leaves falling from the 🌳. For the 🦃, we got up, ran around the table, and gobbled.
It was such a fun way to play together and they all waited their turns without an issue 👏 (well, they were eating breakfast 🍳 while we played, so that may have helped the patience 😆) swipe ➡️➡️
What’s your favorite family game? 🧩♟🎲

Another eventful day at the park with my Wild Thing 😜
PS we had to go to all three playgrounds when he’d meltdown over another kid’s scooter he couldn’t have #toddlerlife #justletmescoot
On the upside I think we found a good Christmas gift for him! 😉🤷🏼♀️🛴
Set out some wooden toys and play silks plus a few other loose bits for the boys to create and play this afternoon 🌈 Baby Brother can correctly identify red, working on blue next 👍
Baby Bear loves rainbows and he decided the blue pompom ripe was water from a fire hose and he's putting out fires 🔥💦 He also decided to use some items and make sushi 🍣
Thanksgiving themed sensory play. 🦃 I made some clear gelatin with cranberries, orange slices, cloves and cinnamon sticks. I wish you could smell it! 🦃 We needed some sensory play after a week of crazy schedules. 🦃 I didn’t let it set up quite like it should, but my daughter didn’t care at all. 🦃 Check out my stories on how we extended the play for my oldest and the baby.
“Hide” post it notes around the house with various shapes on them. Create a large poster with the same shapes for them to put their findings on.
for the inspiration.
See next comment for tips and supplies.
Note: The turn back around to check the work. 😍
A puzzle kinda night - started off with arranging a puzzle based on chinese numbers, then another number puzzle in reverse order (the little one wasn’t used to this). He also had fun with a 9-piece and 12-piece puzzles, and he found the blank pieces very amusing. #dgredridinghoodtheme

Toddler Activity: (suitable from whenever they stop putting everything into their mouth!) •
Water beads sensory bin
Have you ever touched water beads? I was pleasantly surprised the first time i did! They are so calming, relaxing and soothing! They are also soft, squishy, slippery and bouncy which makes them super fun for toddlers and older kids to play with. •
Water beads promote learning and development in areas such as fine motor, coordination, exploration, colours, sensory, and creativity.
You can literally set this up in whatever way you like. Here, i put them in a plastic box with some tools and bottles to get her to practice scooping and dumping. She ended up just playing with them with her hands because she just loved how they felt and that’s totally ok 👍🏻The most important thing is that she was having fun! •
🛑 Please note that all of these activities especially ones with small parts/balls/pieces should be closely monitored and supervised by an adult. Never leave baby alone with waterbeads ⛔️
A sick day at home for this one means lots of lounging around in pjs, Disney movie marathon...and, of course, building castles with her @magnatiles
Who needs toys or activities when you have light switches?! #snowday
Transformation. You've seen my physical transformation side-by-side photos several times, but an even more important transformation I've had in my life is my spiritual one. I know this might sound cheesy but I just want to tell you the real thing here: when I started working out every day, my quiet time became consistent as well. Most every morning (or later in the day) I sit and read my Bible, work on my Bible study questions, and spend some time in prayer and journaling before I drink my pre-workout and get to moving. I'm gonna be dead honest, not once in my lifetime have I been this consistent with my daily time in the Word. Yeah, I thought I was pretty good about it, once every other day or every 3 days back in the day, but man, doing it every day has made such a HUGE difference in my relationship with the Lord. ❤️Our fellowship is in a deeper level than it ever has been and I'm constantly looking to Him for guidance through my WHOLE day, not just one part or even none of it. Sometimes beginning one new habit brings others along with it☺️ and for this one I'm beyond thankful. 🙏🏻

🚜Indoor Dirt🚜 When it’s warm out, as a farm kid,Jack is covered in dirt 24/7. 🙈 I really think that if by the end of the day his fingernails aren’t caked with dirt, he’s not happy. 🤣 He’s always crawling around in a hay shed or feeding cows or digging holes. 👨🏽🌾 I made this indoor dirt in 2.5 seconds (just search cloud dough on Pinterest - it’s super simple!) He asked for it over and over and over. 👍🏼 It’s such a neat texture and perfect for tractor tracks (which are a big deal around here 😝).
Ok snow....if you are going to bring me moments like this, I may just cut you some slack....... Even if it is wet and cold and dreary.
Because man does stuff like this melt my heart
We do our own share of activities around the house. Most of them are impromptu and I don't always take pics and even if I do I forget to upload them. Thus this post so many days later...
We made bird feeders for the winged fellows 🐔🐤🐓🐦🐧🕊🦆🦉who frequent my parents' house here in Mumbai. My dad religiously feeds them everyday and I guess that's why we have this regular set of birds and sometimes squirrels 🐿(the house is on the 3rd floor) who drop by for a bite.
We didn't start off making bird feeders. All we did was cut out shapes from chapati aata and a shape sorter toy from babyTs baby days. Once the shapes were cut we stuck on some seeds from the pods I had picked up on my evening walk. They were gulmohar pods.
When this was done they looked so yummy that we decided the birds should have a grand feast with the shape cut outs. BabyT insisted on adding more bird feed to the shapes. And we added some water too in the bird bath.
We hid and watched from afar as a host of sparrows🐥, mynahs, pigeons🕊 (ugh), parrots🐦 (5 of them) and crows 🦃feasted as if it was a party. Swipe to see the videos too.
In the end there was nothing left.. no aata shapes, not a speck of a seed or grain.. just a warm feeling in our hearts. ❤💕💖
