One thing I’ve learned when trying to navigate this whole “healthy life” thing is to protein prep.
I will prep proteins: chicken, turkey, etc. for the week so then at meal time, it’s easy to add different sides according to preference.
Today, my three year old and I both had TexMex Chicken, but she had strawberries and seconds on Cauliflower Rice; whereas I added a wedge salad and salsa.
Prepping your protein saves so much time. Just keep the seasonings pretty basic and you can quickly add them to any meal your family is craving and adjust them to fit your meal plan as well. No more cooking multiple meals and driving yourself crazy!
When prepping, I typically do a tex-mex, an Italian, and a soup for some ideas! 🍽🍗
“Ok mom, help!” 🥄 When she can’t get a good spoonful, she lets me know. 🗣
Lunch was chia pudding with 🍎 applesauce and spinach mozzarella pinwheels. 💚
🎅🏻🌲⭐️Christmas cookies- naturally sweetened with dates
Toddler Tip Tuesday...I guess I’m starting a new thing for myself 🤷♀️ Make lunches that have a variety. Some fruit, some yummy muffin from Nonni, veggies, beans, and homemade guacamole with chopped up spinach.
I was nervous the kids weren’t gonna eat it all, but they did! Sweet potatoes and chickpeas roasted in coconut oil and sea salt. Guacamole recipe below: make according to how many avocados you are using.
• 4 Avocados (mashed or chopped)
• 2 tsp sea salt
• 1 Lemon juiced • Spinach (as much or as little and finely chopped)
I added the spinach because I’m trying to incorporate more salads into the kids diet, so I took @ellenfisher
’s idea of chopping the spinach and slowly adding bigger chunks and less avocado. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Let me know if you try it and if your kiddos like it!

1 WEEK until Christmas! 😳🎁🎄 And in our home, as we get closer and closer, we love making festive food – and one of our most well-loved Christmas-time breakfasts just happen to be these Festive Reindeer Pancakes. 🦌 I love these little guys (or girls!); and like to imagine Mrs. Claus making a whole big batch for all the little elves, and of course – the big man himself: Santa! 🎅🏻
These pancakes are simple to make, fluffy, topped with fruit, and vegan - if desired. 🥞 And just look at how cute they are!
Made from a homemade whole wheat pancake mix and decorated with blueberry antlers, a strawberry nose, and banana and blueberry eyes – they are simple, fun and perfectly festive! 🎄

Chia pudding | blueberry quinoa oat bar | strawberries
The recipe for the blueberry bar is in my highlights. Chia pudding is just 1/2 cup plain yogurt with 1 tbsp chia seeds soaked overnight.
Melody is HUNGRY today! This was breakfast and in the two hours since, she's also had an apple, 2 tbsp raw cashews, a mini tortilla rollup with turkey and vegan cream cheese, half a cup of strawberries, 15 pretzel sticks dipped in peanut butter, and sliced cucumber. Wow!! Her eating makes me ridiculously happy 🤗. All these snacks are on my instastory, but I didn't take a picture as she has been grazing all morning.

Easy Finger Food ideas with...APPLES! Apples can be hard to chew and raw ones can be a choking hazard for toddlers, but there are lots of ways to serve them safely. Keep in mind that these ages are just guidelines—every kiddo is different and has unique developmental and chewing abilities. Use this as a reference, not a rule! Here are a few of our favorites.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Applesauce: unsweetened from 6 months up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Steamed or roasted apple slices: served BLW style, the baby will be able to pick up the pieces and suck off the tender flesh, then discard the skin. 6 mo +⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Raw, grated: Choose softer varieties like MacIntosh or Gala and offer a small amount at a time. 8/9 mo+⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Raw sticks: Use softer varieties here too and sit with your kiddo to see how they do. 16 mo +⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Raw slices: Same as the sticks–soft varieties and see how your toddler does. Many toddlers at this age can actually eat whole apples, but some can't so you need to see what works for your child!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Which fruit or veggie would you like more serving ideas for? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What kind of yogurt do you like? Most adults aren't big fans of plain yogurts, but babies don't usually mind! Especially if that's all they know. .
So why plain? Well quite frankly it's because it's next to impossible to find flavored yogurt without crazy amounts of added sugar at your average grocery store. I've heard of different brands here and there without added sugar, but it's very rare. So instead, I recommend buying plain and then using it as a way to get in all sorts of flavors for your baby. (Check out my post a while back on things you can add to yogurt for ideas!)
Greek is definitely not a must, but it makes it so much easier to have your baby feed themselves. And for me, that's a winner. When it comes to organic, I will very rarely, if ever, tell you that you must buy something organic. Because at the end of the day it is more important to eat the food than to worry about it being organic. With that being said, if it is in your budget, I would say dairy is a good one to have at the top of the buy organic list. .
Last but not least, buy whole milk yogurt until your kid is at least two. The fat will help with brain development. Different brands have different percentages that they consider whole milk. Generally anything over 4% I'd consider whole- the exact percentage doesn't matter. .
There are lots of other things that you might consider. Things like the amount of protein in each, or which specific strains of probiotics are in it. To me those are way down the line of importance for a baby. Yogurt is a great way to get in probiotics, but I'm more concerned with the fact that it has them at all, not which specific ones are in it. And there's no need to worry about protein content with babies unless you have specific medical issues. So forget everything else, and focus on these main things when buying your yogurt! .

Fully stocked freezer to set Little Man up while I’m away on my Christmas getaway... Do you batch cook?
This have to be my mantra!! •
We as humans tend to focus on the not so pretty side of things, like how tired we are, the fact that our house is a mess all the time, or why why our children can just go to sleep already? 😂 I feel you! But instead we should try to focus on how precious our time with our kids is, that long night that tight now looks like and eternity is just minutes, they grow so fast and tomorrow they are going to be out for collage!! •
Just try to remember when you wish so hard for what you have right now! 💕 #quote #mantra #momlife #momistired #toddler #toddlermeals #inspirational
