When Women Who Hike first started I didn’t expect to have hikes happening every weekend, and now all over the world. Never did I @Im_NicoleMarie
ever expect to get asked, “when are you coming here?” This past weekend we had four group hikes in one day: California, Washington, New Jersey and our first group hike in Massachusetts. And this weekend we have four group hikes happening to celebrate Earth Day, including our first one in Canada.
Years ago when I began hiking again regularly, I never shared the trail with anyone. And now I feel like all of us are sharing the trail together through this community, @WomenWhoHike.
Whether you're someone who follows us, uses our hashtag, is in one of our Facebook groups or has been on a hike with us… thank you. This community is ALL OF YOU and I couldn’t do it, and wouldn’t want to do it without you.
We especially couldn’t do our group hikes without our ambassadors. These are women who carry the mission and mantra of @WomenWhoHike
on the trail with them and to all of you. Here’s more about our hike from last weekend in Massachusetts from WWH Ambassador, @courtpm
“Bash Bish Falls is magical in the morning light, but not as magical as the first WWH Massachusetts hike! Even though we had a few obstacles during our hike due to the spring melt, the wonderful 14 women who joined us were troopers as we all enthusiastically hiked the extra miles to reach the falls! We were all rewarded with the first beautiful spring weather day in New England and a sunny summit. I always leave Women Who Hike events on cloud nine with a full heart and a longer bucket list. Hosting these events, making connections with like minded women, and showing women the beauty of a new trail is a humbling and rewarding experience that I can’t wait to do again! To all the women that joined us - you rock! Thank you!”
