Time fries when you're playing games with a friend and procrastinating 😉. @thebesttimecafe is a tiny cafe that my friend has always wanted to try whenever she passed by it. It was pretty cozy, minus the loud poker players screaming in our ears.
This place is more for hanging out with your friends or studying rather than eating food. Saying this, their snack combination of fries, beef balls, and popcorn chicken was pretty good; although a bit small and PRICEY. The popcorn chicken was moist and crispy and their fries were not overly oily. The milk tea on the other hand was pretty lacklustre and there was not anything too amazing about it. We got the HK and Hokkaido milk tea. I heard the lattes were good here though.

I was surprised to find one of the crispiest, delicious dolsatbibimbap outside of Korean town, and of all places in Yorkville. To be honest, I don't normally order this dish so maybe I'm missing out on what Korean town has to offer, but hidden in Yorkville, @kokosharebar is definitely underrated.
👅Earl Grey 'n Toffee Wooffles ($4.50) + Earl Grey & Vanilla Twist ($4.00)
📍Wooffles & Cream [8360 Kennedy Rd., Unit 81, Markham ON]
⭐️4.5/5 • Found inside the food court at New Kennedy Square, this little shop provides the ideal location to enjoy some dessert and hang-out with your friends without having to worry about occupying a table. Wooffles & Cream offers a variety of waffle and soft serve flavours that often rotate throughout each month, which is how we got to try their latest concoction: Earl Grey and Vanilla twist! Our current favourite woofle is the Earl Grey 'n Toffee flavour, which they have just made a permanent option on their menu. The waffles are made to order, so wait times will depend on how busy they are. The best part is their creamy soft serve, offered as both solo and twist options, though we recommend getting the flavour by itself as the vanilla often masks the other. GRANNY TIP: Follow Woofles & Cream over on their social medias so you don't miss out on any of their limited-time flavours as they tend to announce them the week of release! .

❤️ What are your favourite Hong Kong desserts? I love egg tarts, sweet potato sweet soup, sticky rice sesame balls, steamed egg pudding and of course bubble waffles! Bubble waffles in Hong Kong are seldom served at restaurants, it is more a street food that students would get as after school snacks. It’s interesting to see them being served at fancy restaurants nowadays.
❤️ Featured here is Hong Kong style bubble waffle ($12) with ice cream & berry coulis.

Felt like something homey and comforting and decided to go to @thephorestaurant to try out their infamous #BunBoHue ($9)- a Central Vietnam Signature #NoodleSoup . Maybe my expectations were really high but I found it just ok. I really enjoyed the beef brisket which was tender and there is a big piece of pig's knuckle as well as Vietnamese ham in the soup. Unfortunately for me, the soup was lacking the bold mix of spicy, sour, salty and sweet flavors I had been expecting. I was actually really surprised at the spiciness level since I usually can't take much heat but mixed with the noodles and meat, I didn't find the bowl spicy at all!
The #ComGaHaiNam ($9.75) - Hainan chicken rice was even more disappointing. The chicken was de-boned which was nice and the meat itself was still tender but I felt it could be more juicy with a stronger aroma of chicken. The jasmine rice was just slightly seasoned and the chicken broth was quite bland. I would definitely skip this dish.
The one redeeming part of the meal was absolutely the #BoTaiChanh ($10.50). Thin slices of tender rare beef is cooked in a delicious fish sauce and lime juice. I really liked that the sauce did not overpower the sweetness of the meat. Mixed with crunchy pickled daikon and cucumbers, it was so refreshing and appetizing; and when mixed with the cliantro and Thai basil, it made for a very tangy and citrusy appetizer. I would come back just for this one dish!
Service-wise, it could use some improvements. My Bun Bo Hue was delivered first and we waited over 15 minutes for the Com Ga Hai Nam to arrive (only after following up with our order). The Bo Tai Chanh APPETIZER actually arrived LAST with the four shrimp chips arriving five minutes later - after we had already eaten half the plate.

We take pride in giving back to the community in which we live and work in - so we're delighted to attend the 22nd Annual Carefirst Young at Heart Charity Gala event this weekend!
Proceeds will enable Carefirst to meet the wide-ranging social and health care needs of their clients, and maintain the operations of its One-Stop Multi-Services Centre - a comprehensive care centre for the community. This kind of service is absolutely vital to our community, and we at HCafe recognize this wholeheartedly!
Lately, this bunny has been eating healthy. Today we decided to go eat some “chay” aka vegetarian food. Not just any vegetarian food, but Vietnamese veggie!
I ordered something simple, just a chay wonton soup with veggies. It was umami-ful! The wontons were crunchy and the soup base is mmmmm. Yummy and healthy.
They have all kinds of Vietnamese dishes turn into vegetarian style, including everyone’s favourite, Pho! @buddhachay
🍣Steak + Sushi
💸 - $$$ - ($28) || 3.5/5 🌟
With tataki-style steak in ponzu sauce & rainbow roll 🍙
This was presented nicely and I loved the steak in ponzu sauce. However, portion size was small for price point as the sushi wasn't anything mind blowing, as one would expect from the Joey standard. But this could be biased as I am comparing their sushi to Japanese restaurants. Atmosphere was great as usual.
