On Friday, Susan and I had the pleasure of surprising the fifth grade classes at Gordo Elementary with popsicles and candy for their participation in Kindness Week. We heard about halfway through the week about their acts of kindness they were performing all over campus and in their classrooms. We couldn’t wait to go up for a visit!
From greeting kids in the mornings to picking up trash around campus to writing inspirational words on post-it notes, these classes worked hard and represented Libby, her donor and the Live Like Libby-Love Like Libby Foundation so well. We enjoyed sharing Libby’s story and about how Kindness Week got started with the different classes and hearing all about their own take on what it meant to show kindness to others. One thoughtful class even make post-it notes for Susan. Her eyes glistened as each child walked up to personally hand theirs to her. It made me believe even more in what we are doing and renewed my hope that #together
, we can make a huge difference.
Thank you to the fifth grade teachers for seeing an opportunity to give back and giving it their all! We were so honored to see some of the same teachers who taught Libby stepping up to include our plan for this week in their own classrooms. My prayer is that your example will get even more classes and schools involved next year! We love you guys! #livelikelibbylovelikelibby #libbyskindnesssquad
