Celebrated stained-glass artist Tom Denny was commissioned to create two windows for St Katharine's Chapel in the Cathedral to commemorate King Richard III.
The Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin, Tewkesbury. The present building was started in the early 12th century. #TewksburyAbbey
(swipe) - the later images show the so-called Wakeman Cenotaph (depicting a decaying cadaver in an open shroud covered with vermin) and finally two #TomDenny #stainedglass
windows installed to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the monks’ arrival at the Abbey. #churcharchitecture
This is the Tea Angel who resides in Gloucester Cathedral - she’s made from used teabags freshly washed, dried and ironed. Hundreds of teabags were collected from the congregation and other churches. The sentiment being that a nice cup of tea is soothing, warming and usually shared. I love this. If only the worlds problems could be solved over a nice cup of tea. Happy New Year to all my IG friends and I hope your 2018 is healthy, happy and prosperous. #gloucestercathedral #tomdenny #stainedglass #magnificent #love #peace #nicecupoftea #joseph
is So beautiful, I have always admired the Celtic saints especially Cuthbert and here he is buried behind the altar. And there was an astounding piece of stained glass artwork called the Transfiguration by #TomDenny
that took my breath away.
Two new discoveries this weekend. These beautiful Tom Denny windows in Hereford Cathedral & the poetry of Thomas Traherne who they are dedicated to. "You never enjoy the world aright till the sea itself floweth in your veins, till you are clothed with the heavens and crowned with the stars.
You are as prone to love as the sun to shine." #tomdenny #herefordcathedral #thomastraherne #newdiscoveries
