With a smile on my face and tears in my eyes I didn’t know it was going to be that hard to leave New Zealand. Speechless 😢
Long way on a mountain in New Zealand…
Stop four: Tongariro alpine crossing
The Tongariro Crossing is well known as one of New Zealand's best day hikes. It is 19.4 km long and at times can be challenging due to the terrain (which can be likened to walking on mars) but 100% worth it for the views. It is best to arrange transfers to and from the crossing to your accommodation as it is a one way walk so you will not be returning to your car. We would strongly recommend A LOT of suncream, a packed lunch as well as snacks along the way, a jacket (the winds can get very strong and often cause the Crossing to close) and of course a camera as the views are amazing the entire way. #tongariroalpinecrossing #tongariro #tongarironationalpark #emaraldlakes #bluelake #mounttongariro #dayhike #newzealand #northisland #travel #travelblogger #backpacking
It’s my last day in New Zealand and looking back to the amount of things I’ve done in a week, I can only say that it brought me very close to what I can call home 🏡
Having the opportunity to explore different sceneries in so many different places was one of the biggest highlights of this adventure!
The people I’ve met/hung out during this journey definitely played a role in order to make this trip unforgettable and completely worth it!
New Zealand, I will be back! I feel like I still have heaps of things to explore 🇳🇿 ❤️
Wonderful Tongariro Crossing! Awesome evening light. Enjoy!
