Well, were do I begin... A social media post does not give justice to what needs to be said in relation to the achievement both Erin & James made competing at this years WAKO GB World Championship.
Over 2300 competitors from over 60 countries from around the world took part in a week long championships in Italy. This was the biggest, the highest standard of martial arts competitor / sports athlete.
Erin ‘aka EE’ put in a great performance and bring home with her so much experience and knowledge for great future success to follow
James is in the top 3 of the best of the world claiming his Bronze medal.
As a coach I couldn’t be prouder of both of them and congratulate their families who have given them amazing support.
For 2018 our Fight Club goal was a medal at every event we enter. I knew this Championships would be the hardest to achieve this and it was done.
The journey doesn’t stop hear, if anything its only just begun... next step Belgium this coming weekend. “As a coach or mentor there are two things I can never give you. Two things that only you can provide. The first is a deep underlying PASSION for what you do. I can deepen that passion, fuel it, strengthen it - but only YOU can CREATE it; and you either have it or you don’t. The second is the ability to PULL THE TRIGGER when opportunity presents itself. I can teach you all manner of techniques, tactics, game plans, risk calculations, strategy, drills etc etc. But in the end, at the crucial moment, ONLY YOU CAN MAKE THE NAKED CHOICE TO PULL THE TRIGGER. In competitive fighting and in life - much can be offered to you - but these two things, passion and the ability to seize the moment and pull the trigger, these two must come from within you - they are yours and yours alone.” Credit - Gordon
