What a #sufferfest
! Thanks to all the volunteers out there that helped get us through. Fantastic, well organized race! My race started well, went out conservative. The plan was to attack the ridgline, relax through chinscraper and the down hills then pick it up on the last 10k. By mile 14 on the ridgline, my left calve cramped and seized as I jumped off a boulder, then two miles later the right calf went too!! Felt like two flat tires, I could no longer go with speed without them seizing up. I was relegated to flat foot slow running.. Might've quit the race if weren't for the kiddos waiting at the finish. 👭 But with tears im my eyes, and the most pain ive felt in a race from the spasming calves, I finished in 6hrs I was targeting 4:30-445. My thoughts going foward?? Need to figure out the sodium level game. My body, face, even eyelashes were caked in white sweat...thanks again for all the support out there😀👍 Next up: #Sun

I was really happy with my run this morning, my hip has been playing up for the last couple of days so I decided to run in my #vaporfly
4%’s. I have only run in them a few times now but my legs are in noticeably better shape in comparison to how they would normally feel after the same run. In seven days time I’ll be racing in China 🇨🇳. I’m planning on running the middle portion of the race at my GC goal marathon pace. I’m also considering upgrading my #garmin910xt
to a #garmin935
to take advantage of the enhanced running and recovery metrics 😉 @activestride
❌Have you heard any of these very common food myths? 🤦🏻♂️
✅Is organic food better? Let's think about this one. Wouldn't it be better to focus more around eating the right foods rather than focusing solely on the production of the food? Sure, food quality matters, but remember that quantity does too... especially for weight loss! 🔥Organic products like ice cream aren't exactly any "healthier" or more weight loss friendly than their non-organic counterpart🍦
💦Should you detox? 🤦🏻♂️No idea why this is still a thing. I'm all for introducing more water, fruit & vegetables into your diet, but the need to buy into certain products that will support your "detox" is rubbish 💩. You don't need to purchase awful detox teas & supplements 🚫
🍳Back in the day whole eggs were perceived as being detrimental to your cholesterol... because they contain cholesterol, they should therefore affect yours, right? 🙄Wrong! Like anything, portions are the key. Whole eggs promote more health than harm and have shown that despite containing cholesterol, they don't have negative effects on yours. Check the current research👌🏼
⚠️If you're still vilifying one food group (whether that's carbs, sugars, fats or meat), then you're more than likely on the wrong path. Certain foods should be eaten more than others, but ultimately every food can have a place in your diet🥗🍦. Carbs don't make you fat, eating too much of anything will! ⚖️
