! Let’s talk about SEASONAL PRODUCE! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Summer is HERE + with it comes my favorite fruits and veggies! Seriously! 🥑🥒🍅🍒🍉🥕🍇 #allthefoods
So W H Y should we buy seasonal?⬇️
Eating “in season” means choosing produce that comes to harvest during a certain season. .
During the summer season fruits like strawberries & tomatoes are sweeter and juicier! That means they are more nutrient dense and health-promoting for our BODS!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Studies have proven the nutrient content of seasonal and local produce is superior. You’ll be getting fresher, more nutrient-dense food to support your health when you shop seasonally. Fruits and vegetables contain the most nutrients when they are ripe, but when they are transported all over the world for out-of-season consumption, they are picked prior to ripeness, and the decomposition process immediately begins. .
When you choose to by seasonally, you are more likely to buy food that’s being grown by local farmers. Farmers’ markets and co-ops are great places to find many options that meet both of these criteria - if you are not fortunate enough to have a local Farmers market, look for organic or non-GMO produce! 🎉🎉🎉
There are plenty of resources online to find what is in season in your area - it is totally worth it in my opinion! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 #holisticnutrition #iamwellandgood #shopseasonal #healthtipoftheday #healthtips

Wednesday Pull-Day ✨ Second favorite day, next to legs 💪🏼😁 • What’s your favorite training day?
Want voor jezelf zorgen is zo ontzettend belangrijk! Het is net als bij de veiligheidsinstructies in het vliegtuig: je moet jezelf helpen voordat je anderen kan helpen.
friends! Okay, can anyone spot the problem in this first picture?? If you want to get more out of your workouts and have more fun doing it, you might consider checking the form of...wait for it...your face! 😬😵😶😁
WRONG: That pained expression on my face! Our facial expressions don’t only tell others how we’re feeling, it also cues our body to respond accordingly. If I make my best pain face during an exercise, do you think my body will respond by gearing up and working harder? No! I’m not only convincing everyone in the room that I’m feeling the burn, I’ve also convinced my body and have capped my own ability to push harder as a result.
RIGHT: When a workout gets tough, put a smile on your face! Here’s an example: A study done last year on a group of runners showed that the group who smiled intermittently throughout a tough run not only performed better by (as measured by VO2 data), but they also reported higher levels of enjoyment when compared to running with a relaxed face or with a pained expression. •
Give it a try! Next time you’re in the middle of a tough set or a grueling workout, smile to let yourself know that you’ve got this and see what happens! It sounds strange, but it really does work. •
Give it a try! What’s the worst thing that could happen? You’re known as the happiest person at the gym? 🤷🏼♀️😁
Sorry I’ve been M.I.A., it’s been a crazy weekend with my cousins wedding and family being in town. Then now I am going straight to my annual volunteer gig. So as the quote says do whatever is good for your soul. Family time and volunteering is what my heart needed. Don’t worry, I was still working out. But I am counting down the hours until I am reunited with my volunteer family. It’s such a fun time. I can’t wait to meet my new volunteers. Happy Wednesday everyone! You won’t hear much from me this week either. But don’t worry, I am alive. I am just living in the moment and being present. 💕
Training your body is not a punishment - its a privilege. A slight mindset shift will make all the difference with how much you enjoy training...Good Morning!!
With temps dropping into the minus’ this week, bulk soup is definitely necessary! My favourite Kale,Zucchini & Cauliflower Soup by @donna.hay @freshandlight

Page 54;00 “STANDARDS IN LIFE”
I HAVE A PERSONAL STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE FOR MY LIFE!!!🧘🏼♀️🥋🚴🏻♂️🏋🏻♀️ I just believe I deserve to give myself the best version of me!
I just believe I deserve to give my daughter the best version of me!
I just believe I deserve to give the people that I'm of service to on this earth the best version of me!
So I take a personal level of pride in everything that I do!
Because I almost lost my life!
But then God put me on this path.
So now it's not even about ME!
If every decision, and choice you make is just about "YOU" at some point you're going to hit something that is a lot tougher then YOU!
And it's gonna break you down, and make you quit!
Because you don't have a driving force for why you do what you do.
So you have to learn how to work from the inside-out in life, and not the outside-in.
Because when you work from the inside you understand your HOW, your WHY, and your WHAT... Your standards will end up dictating where you go and what you get out of life...
Raise your standards!

"Today I needed a reminder on how far I've come. I've been having little pity parties lately like "I should have tried harder and been more consistent" or "You failed because you aren't at your goals yet" when in reality I know none of this is true. The only truth behind these statements is how difficult this journey can be: physically, mentally, and emotionally. I've been in a calorie deficit for almost a year now and it's time to give both my body and mind a break. The challenge to this is that I'll be working against the goals I've been working so hard towards these past 2.5 years. I also have had this "magic number" in mind on what my "healthy weight" is and it's time to get that number out of my head 🙅🏼 because I don't know what my healthiest weight is in numerical sense when so many factors (beyond the scale) contribute to total health. My course of action can be:
-Stay at this unsustainable intake (not ideal)
-Stop tracking altogether which sets me up for a potentially massive rebound (also not ideal)
-Or start a reverse diet (something I've been mentally preparing for awhile now) which is most ideal because it 1. Is necessary to reboot my metabolism and will help reduce cravings for what my body is needing 2. Improve strength, energy levels, and make socializing easier/ more enjoyable 3. Is a controlled manner to work my body back up to maintenance 4. Train for goals other than fat loss 5. More food 🙌🏼
-Our bodies are not meant to be in a deficit for extended periods of time and I've reached that point. Honestly knowing I'll be putting some weight back on does stress me out a little bit but I also know I'm excited for more food 😂 and that food is fuel! So one more week of a deficit and time to focus on other gainzzz like strength, energy, and fitness performance 👊🏼 Changing your body composition is not easy and is a very long process (to do it in a healthy and sustainable manner). So yes this will initially be mentally challenging for me, but I also know to have patience and trust the process 🌱✨💕"

Someone brought cake into the office today. 🍰 I politely declined. Enjoy your birthday with your triple layer chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache and marshmallow fondant. I’m not even phased. Honest.🖕🏼
