Gudhi Padwa - The first day of the traditional Indian new year is celebrated as Gudhi Padwa. This marks the beginning of the Shaka Era, which began in 78 A.D. The Shaka Era calendar is followed in Maharashtra and South India. It is even followed in South East Asia including Indonesia. In North India, another calendar called the Vikram Samvat which started in 58 B.C. is followed. This calendar begins on the day ot the Balipratipada. The Shaka Era commemorates the victory of the Satavahana ruler Gautamiputra Satakarni over the Shaka ruler Nahapana. However it appears that after this victory, another Shaka ruler of a different family came to throne and began his regal era which came to be known as the Shaka Era.
Celebrate this new year with some yummy sweets!

Hey guys, it's me again 🙈
The first week of working in my new job was kind of exhausting, that's why I couldn't bring up any motivation for posting at all 😥
But I reeeally love to work there, the work itself is super exciting and my colleagues are so kind ❤
Today it seems as if spring has finally arrived, it's so warm and sunny 🌸
So we'll take the chance and go for a ride in my Mini, which is harder than I thought because I haven't been driving in so many years 😿
Later we'll go to the cinema and I also need to finish an article for work tomorrow 👩💻
I hope you're enjoying your day 💕

Tripping down memory lane - EuroTrip '16: Barcelona, Spain. Enough said! Or not! Bold, brash, colourful, distinctive, harmonious, varied and unique. Barcelona has successfully blended the old and the new. But when it comes to Barcelona, there is one architect whose name really stands out: Antoni Gaudí. My favs are "The Sagrada Família" and "The Casa Batlló". If that's not your thing then there are a gazillion other modern masterpieces to check out.
The Catedral de la Almudena stands next to the Royal Palace. It's massive and I thought, royal weddings must be held here (only to find out later that day that royals have their own shrine in the palace). It's absolutely beautiful and charming with the high colorful ceiling.
Saying goodbye to brown hair today 👋🏻
& for once im actually scared to dye it colourful again? Maybe because this colour is possibly the brightest I’ve ever tried, but I think I’ve just been without the colour for too long I’ve forgotten how awesome it is 🤷🏻♀️ Lets do this 💪🏻💙💚

Dry season in a floating village on Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest lake. Villagers fish, drink, bathe, and go to the bathroom in the same waters. With no education, no healthcare, 6-10 children per family, and a lake suffering from overfishing and damage, change is an uphill battle. .#tonlesap#cambodian#cambodia#poverty#travelbug#travel
