You feel a part of it, become part of it. Tucked away from he main road, down a dirt road and a short steep climb on foot and you’re there. This obscure piece of land juts away from the mainland, but you wouldn’t know it was there unless you were looking for it. IMMUNITY BOOSTERS 🤧🍋 @theshadyshack ⁣ ⁣ Often when we travel our immune system gets low, especially in a place like Bali where the water isn’t clean and sometimes the food hygiene is questionable. Also the constant transition from heat to air con can reek havoc on our our bodies. ⁣ ⁣ Alongside having a vitamin C tablet daily, I like to ensure I’m getting enough nutrients and giving my gut that little extra kick it needs when I can. And they just munch and munch and then they hand me their cores. Also hydrates them a bit without them guzzling a ton of water so we don’t have to pee every hour. WHAT. I’ll rehydrate them tomorrow. In fact, it could even save you so much time that you’ll be at a loss as to what to do with it.⁣ ⁣ One thing is for sure though; you’ll be happier.⁣ ⁣ The Journal of Business Ethics found that ‘the experience of time affluence was positively related to subjective well-being’​. In other words, that wonderful feeling of having a bit of time to spare (and not being rushed) makes people a whole lot happier.⁣ ⁣ Conversely, feeling PRESSED for time will have consequences. A study in the Journal of Health and Social Behaviour found that excessive time pressure made people more prone to anxiety and depression​. 🌙Were you lucky enough to see the lunar eclipse yesterday?🌙 While not a lunar eclipse, the Full Moon Bridge (engetsu-kyo) is a similarly beautiful sight. This bridge was designed by Zhu Zhiyu and is one of the many examples of how Chinese and Japanese style are combined at Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens. The arch of the bridge was designed so that the reflection in the water underneath creates the illusion of a full moon. One of the few surviving original pieces from the early Edo period, this bridge is only one of the many reasons to visit this fabulous garden while visiting Tokyo.

It’s the moments where our smiles were the biggest, our hearts were the warmest, our minds were most open, and there was not an ounce of regret. ⁣ ⁣ As the years are passing us by quicker than ever, I want to be treasuring the moments I spend, not watching the clock. I not only want to see the world, but adore those I get to spend it with. So if you have the privilege of having your grandparents still alive, or elder relatives you can spend the time with. These temptations aren’t serving you in your quest for a better body and improved health. 🗑Toss out the cookies, crackers, candy, chips, pastries and sugary cereals. 🗑Read the labels on cans, jars and prepackaged goods and remove those that contain: hydrogenated oils, a sodium daily value over 20%, artificial colors/sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup, BHT, BHA, sodium nitrate/nitrite, enriched flour. 🗑Check your freezer for prepared microwaveable or frozen meals - ditch them as they contain loads of sodium and preservatives. 🗑Find all the foods and drinks you go to when you’re sad, craving, stressed, happy or bored. 🗑Donate all unopened items to your local food bank. . We have this ambition to do big things inside but are scared to take to leap of faith or are scared to fail. . . This my friends are limiting beliefs. I deal with them daily but I have been digging deep recently to not let fear hold me back and be who God created me to be. . . When I started this coaching business it was a huge leap of faith. It took me 3 years of tugging on my heart for me to finally say yes. And I am so glad I did. It has changed me for the better spiritually, mentally, and physical, but also allows me to pour out and help others. . . So be fearless and follow your heart. Chase your dreams. Be ambitious. How do you not get sick when you travel?! . Make your body feel AT HOME. (Unless of course, you get sick all the time at home) Don’t fall off the deep end and eat + drink ALL THE THINGS just because you’re not home/on vacation/traveling for work/visiting family. Your body goes on, doing its thing. . Travel is tough on the body, lots of sitting, exposure to more germs, dehydration, stress, sleep/time zone changes and (usually) different foods. It’s A LOT but your body doesn’t need to know. Treat it just like you do at home; nourishing foods, movement/exercise, sleep and not tons of alcohol. I’m not saying don’t have a donut or homemade dessert or one cocktail from time-to-time on your trip, but don’t go hog wild. Megan - quit being the FUN POLICE 👮‍♀️ If food and booze are the only thing bringing you fun, you might need to re-evaluate something’s. . Travelin' with my heavy metal detox smoothies today (one for today, one for tomorrow)! 🌱My plant-based diet has definitely changed how we travel, but I try to minimize the impact to my family by bringing an extra smoothie and snacks (or bringing my Vitamix on longer trips). I’m so thankful for Anthony William (@medicalmedium ) and the knowledge and healing methods his selfless work has brought into this world. I’ve had my #heavymetaldetoxsmoothie for breakfast nearly every day for the last 2+ years and most days my husband gets one too. . . Every day it’s 3 bananas, 2 cups of wild blueberries (I love Wyman's), a bunch of cilantro, an orange, a sprinkle of atlantic dulse and a teaspoon each of Vimergy barley grass juice power and spirulina. I like to add in a few extras most days: a bunch of fresh spinach and whatever frozen organic fruit I have from #costco . I recently stocked up on an amazing blend of dragon fruit, mangos and coconut. Then I add water or coconut water and blend it up in my Vitamix. . . How to Travel HEALTHY! ✈️ In less then 36 hours, I’m flying to Bali for a month-long backpacking trip. I’m allowing myself flexibility and freedom to eat new foods and let go of usual routines. BUT, I still plan on taking care of both my physical and mental health while traveling. Why? Because feeling good truly matters to me. 💙 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1.) Supplements: Probiotics and Digestive enzymes are your two BEST friends. If you’re travelling to a foreign country, take activated charcoal and grapefruit extract to help prevent parasites and traveler’s diarrhea. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2.) Health: I’m bringing things like natural sunscreen, essentials oils to help me while flying, a first aid kit, and my @lifestraw incase I need to drink contaminated water. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3.) Clothes: Pack for the weather! BROKEN 💔 🤕 My hormones, adrenal fatigue, torn meniscus, wrong gait pattern, parasite, gut issues, metabolic dysfunction... the list goes on. ⁣ ⁣ That was my list of excuses, my way of putting responsibility on everything else except myself, my reasons why I couldn’t shift weight. ‘I’M BROKEN’ I used to tell myself. ⁣ ⁣ Then something happened, it wasn’t the food (that was already on track), it wasn’t the exercise (if anything I over train), it wasn’t the sleep, it wasn’t even supplements or anything I was doing to correct my gut health, hormones or adrenal fatigue. I changed my MINDSET! ⁣ ⁣ I always knew the mind had immense power, and had been told it that the mind and body were one, not two separate entities, but I never understood the true depth of this until I saw the changes myself. ⁣ ⁣ Instead of repeatedly telling myself I was broken, excusing myself like I was exempt from the norm and had it harder than everyone else. I changed the voice in my head to one of belief. One of courage, determination, focus, regardless of circumstances or whatever my body was battling, I was still so much more than letting these define me. I am capable of achieving my goals, to look and feel my best... AND I am worth doing it for! ⁣ ⁣ So whilst many argue for the calorie equation being the be all and end all of weight loss or muscle gain, I argue that it all starts in the mind, and if your mind isn’t sorted you’re still going to be unhealthy! ⁣

And traveling for close to 2 months is a challenge to keep up with. Challenging being the key word, not impossible. • • • • So here are some tips that help me stay on track while I’m traveling: . . . 1. My plant-based superfoods 🌱. I never leave home without it. It is loaded with all the nutrients your body needs. It’s vegan, vanilla, I can mix it with water, and it’s delicious. I only brought a 40 liter backpack on my trip but I made sure to leave space for 3 lbs of my superfood. . . . 2. A library of 400+ online workouts that I can download and take with me even into the most remote places in the world. In the gym at the ritzy hotel or in the smallest space in my bungalow, I’ll get it done anywhere. . . . 3. My accountability group. These badass chicks keep me on top of my game when I am feeling days when I don’t want to do anything. Sometimes you just need that little push. . . . 4. Being consistent. Change doesn’t happen overnight. There are no quick fixes or crash diets. Believe me, I’ve done it all. Little changes everyday, like choosing a green smoothie bowl over chocolate pancakes this morning. SO TEMPTING!! . . . So point is, life is too short not to feel amazing all the time. I’d rather be comfortable in my skin and ready to take on my day than that moment of happiness I get when I eat that pancake.
