As soon as I saw you, I knew you would be the adventure of a lifetime! 💕
When we put on our traditional yukata and walked through the hot spring town of Gero, Japan.... we were reminded of WHY we travel the world together.
To have moments like this in incredible new places, making memories of a lifetime TOGETHER. 👫✨

This trip to Japan has really reminded me of why it's important to travel - and to go beyond just sandy beaches or plush resorts. To go somewhere so culturally different is eye-opening, sure, but more importantly, it's impossible to visit and not fall in love when you're there. You learn about the culture's collective struggles and successes, their sources of pride and insecurity. When you truly get to know a new country, it's hard not to leave a more understanding, forgiving, compassionate and empathetic person. And Japan, you have been the best of hosts to us. We cannot wait to be back ❤
Those Tokyo Nights ✨🛸
The city where everyone fits in, yet stands out.
Concrete jungle of business and play.
Ultra conservative, yet completely wild.
Hard work and structure, meets the crazy and colourful.
Ancient traditions blurred with futuristic fantasies.
That was the Tokyo I experienced.
Like a city caught between two worlds. Old and new. Both pulling at its ends like a tug of war. The result: the most unique and fascinating city to get lost in. Where you can dive into the old, but flirt with the new.
Tokyo wasn’t like anything I expected, and I love being surprised ✌️✨

“I’m twenty-seven, but I don’t feel any smarter than I did twelve years ago.” This park is so gorgeous. Wanted to recreate scenes from The Garden of Words, but the key location was occupied. Alas! Had to settle for the amazing views instead. 🌿
Love leaving my footprints in all kinds of places.
Glad I got to visit the statue of Hachiko. 🐕
Day 10 - When walking a minimum of 5km is a daily must when travelling in Japan, you would make every sitting moment a chance to stretch your legs - much like this uncle. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 9 - You know you’re in the nation’s food capital when every corner you go, you are faced with a vermillion number of kushikatsu, takoyaki and okonomiyaki stalls to choose from; and you have to make that call quickly before you feel bad for staring at the menu for too long. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 8 - Miyajima, a pretty island with this majestic floating torii gate right at the centre of it. Also witnessed the Shinto monks and commoners worship at the centuries-old shrine. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 7 - Had a bit of everything today.
From soaring stalks of bamboo to breathtaking reflection of autumn leaves on a drawing table.
From artistic multi-storey bookshelves to zealous traditional chants by onlookers at a street festival.
From delightful experience at a standing coffee bar to charming afternoon stroll through preserved imperial architecture. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 6 - Tried to count how many torii gates there are all the way up to Mt Inari but lost it after 6,591. Jokes, didn’t count. Didn’t even complete half the track. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 5 - There is something beautiful yet mysterious about the world of geisha that intrigues me a lot. I wish I could live in the olden Japanese imperial period and learn all about it. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 4 - Chasing quiet in this small onsen town. The traditional Japanese ryokan and kaiseki dining are a bonus. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 3 - Ticked two things off my all-time bucket list today; witnessing the impeccable installations created by Borderless art team and having a personal chef prepare an omakase course at Kyubey Ginza. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 2 - Woke up at ridiculously early hour of morning and climbed 400 steps for this view. Worth it you ask? I’d say yes. Too bad the clouds were a little jealous of my effort - the tip of Mt Fuji is there nonetheless. #FourteenDaysOfZen
Day 1 - When quaint traditional tea shops are starkly juxtaposed with bustling high-rise shopping malls. #FourteenDaysOfZen
