One of my (what I'd like to think) resolutions this year is to start traveling the Philippines (starting with Luzon). I've always been dreaming of visiting other countries, but haven't been to many places in my own island. I realized this when I went to Taiwan, Singapore and Japan and got to talk to some locals (usually the taxi drivers, tour guides and people from our hotel) who would always light up when asked and I tell them I'm from the Philippines. Surprisingly, my little island of a home is widely recognized?! They would mention places in my country that they have been to (sometimes places I've never been to myself), and their very 'Pinoy' experiences during their trip. Sometimes they would mention popular Filipino stuff like 'Pacquiao' (our most reknowned athlete) or PH being known for having beautiful women (home of 4 Miss Universe titleholders😂) And then I thought how other nationalities pay hundreds of dollars to see my country, when most of these places is one bus/ferry ride and even a stone's throw away from my home! So I'm making it a goal to visit my own country more this year... maybe book a trip on weekends or holidays off. And while it may take a few years to visit all 7,107 islands of my country, (maybe even impossible in my lifetime unless I travel everyday LOL) it's worth a shot!
