❌ STOP killing yourself with endless amounts of cardio! Too much cardio has negative effects on building muscle & building aesthetics. ✅ Instead of doing hours and hours of boring cardio, use HIIT training for 15-30 minutes about 3-4x a week. Not only is this FASTER, but it’s more challenging! You may actually begin to ENJOY cardio, or you may feel like you’re dying LOL but you’ll see way better results with this method.
❌ STOP looking into a miracle fix. There is NO pill, tea, or shake that will get you abs. Point blank period. Fat burners (if dosed properly) can assist in body fat loss, along with a proper diet plan but they are not going to do anything for you without that. ✅ Instead of looking for the quick fix, hire a coach and get on a proper nutrition for YOU. When hiring a coach, make sure it is SUSTAINABLE! If you can’t do follow the diet for the long-haul, it’s a waste of your time and money.
❌ STOP doing crunches every damn day at the end of your workout. Crunches are great, but again they won’t get you abs alone. ✅ Focus more on your compound movements (these utilize multiple muscles in your body & your CORE) Building strength in these areas and abs will become a bi-product of a good training program.
❌ STOP using so many damn machines! Machines lock you into a fixed position and don’t allow you to engage your core. ✅ Instead of machines, focus on using free weights & cables. Like the row machine at your gym? Cool. Try doing the same movement on the cables, plant your feet in a good position, keep your core tight and try to replicate the movement. This will make you have to BALANCE more, which will work your core indirectly.

When I first started going to the gym a couple years ago I had NO idea what I was doing. (Who else has been there?🤷🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️) I would spend the majority of my time on the treadmill or elliptical because that’s where I felt the most comfortable.
I had no idea what was going on when it came to weights and I always felt like everyone was staring at me!
You know when that changed? I started practicing my exercises at home so I felt more comfortable at the gym, and then I would grab my weights and find a corner. You know what’s wrong with that? NOTHING. Do what you need to do to get comfortable.
Are you a beginner at the gym? Not sure what to do? If you find yourself on the treadmill or elliptical than you’re in luck! Each day this week I’ll have a different workout to try; so get your cardio in and then try out one of these new exercises the last 10 minutes of your workout. Try a new workout each day to slowly get more comfortable in the environment around you 🤗

Anti-rotation movements // You might be already doing this with your coach. If you are not, its probably a good idea to speak to them about it.
Anti-rotation movements are useful for incorporating variety and, most importantly, helping master core stability.
The role of anti-rotation movements is to improve coordination and strength of the muscles that function in the transverse plane.
Training in transverse plane is super important because due to constant gravity force, it is the most efficient plane of motion that our body moves in. The body is structurally designed to rotate.
If you are not doing any transverse plane of motion movements, its time to speak to your coach

Last minute subbing for TRX means I got to play with my new ab killer. Floating stairs to a pike. I’m not sure that my class appreciated them as much as I did. 😂
I love that I can do my streaming workouts and adjust the calendar to work with my fitness interests outside of BOD. It’s not all or nothing. It’s balance and you can 100% make time for other things you enjoy!
