🌽What are you concerned about? - 🌽For me during my morbidly obese days my number one concern was micro-nutrients. I was in over my head with myths, facts, everything about vitamins, minerals from food. - 🌽Figuring out things like what's the best oil to use, which fruits have the highest vitamins, which vegetables are the most nutrient dense. That's what lead me down to a vegetarian diet and a vegan diet. I thought "Oh well, if I"m just eating all these things with great nutrients it'll never make me fat." Yeah.. that was just not true at all. - 🍌I remember there was once the fam wanted to get KFC, I wanted to be healthy so I skipped the chicken but ate mounds and mounds of coleslaw and fries. I think the best part was I finished that meal feeling proud that I could eat fast food "healthily". The true definition of ignorance is bliss. - 🌽It still goes over my head how side tracked I was. It still goes over my head how back then I read up a lot about food, talked to numerous doctors and nutritionist and nobody, NOT one, told me about the importance of adherence, calories, macros. Every time I go for a check up, doctors would of course bring up my morbidly obese problem. - 🌽I remember one experience specifically, he sat me down. Telling me what obesity meant. He described all the problems that came with it. It was quite an ugly picture. Disease, mortality, all that jazz. Then the ending of his presentation was, "What I described is the problems with obesity, you are beyond that. You are morbidly obese." That final stab in the heart. - 🌽The best part? He gave me advice on what I should do about it. - 🌽"Go exercise, pick up a sport or something." - 🌽I guess that experience is a huge part why I'm vlogging & writing daily. While, I was more than happy to see him board the yellow bus, and the almost 7 hours of peace and quiet, I had a hard time getting organized and back to the early morning schedule. . . . Anyways, super quick lunch of quinoa pasta + sauteed onion, bell peppers and peas + marinara and cream action. Pan fried sliced sasuages on the side. Carrot sticks for crunch and an apple for some sweetness. . . Some of you messaged me to know what sasuages I generally use. We eat all kind of sausages, but for lunchbox, I prefer fully cooked chicken sausages. They are quick and easy to put together. I usually buy mine from Costco. Gilbert's Craft Sausages (specially the Aloha Chicken) is Sid' favourite, but it is not always available. We were choosing dinner and my boyfriend was like treat your self and he got a pulled ham and cheese sandwich, cheese and tomato pasta and a chocolate Krispy Kreme ... I am trying to stick to a routine and watch what I am eating. I have to eat at certain times during the day. I started intermittent fasting. I start at 6PM and fast for 16 hrs. For dinner today, I am having a spinach salad with two boiled eggs, sausage and a sesame ginger vinaigrette dressing. I have half a cup of berries and half a cup of acv cucumbers. I am drinking peppermint tea for bloating. My attempt at being healthy. I have to trick my brain into eating salads. So my salad consists of tons of Caesar dressing, lettuce, red pepper, chicken breast, more Caesar dressing and crispy onions on top. This is more more unhealthy than a normal meal I would eat. Some of you may already know this but a common sympton of anxiety is lack of sleep. I haven't been sleeping well lately. I tried napping earlier but felt overwhelmed with guilt. Whenever I try to take a moment to relax I start to panic and think of a million of things I should be doing instead of napping. Dishes, eating, working out, school, work, calling my parents, taking my dog out. I should be doing these things, not napping! I feel guilty for not doing them, I start to feel like a disappointment. I hope to get over this some day.

Macros: 14g Carb 3G Fat 54g Protein . . . Recipe: Marinated Chicken pieces in Tandoori power and protein yogurt for 30 minutes. Cut up three carrots, two peppers, one large courgette and one red onion. And whey broke that pattern. - 🧀Sorry! Detoured way too far in the last post to save it. Anyway, whey. Whey was this funny thing. At that moment in time I hadn’t started vlogging, I was pursuing a powerlifting dream as an excuse to keep myself on track and continue the progress. - 🧀I was all eating all natural, calculating every calorie, every gram of protein. I was acting like I was prepping for the Olympics. I tried to find a whole food substitute for whey, and to my horror.. it doesn’t exist. - 🧀Whey always comes with its brother casein. The only way to separate them is by processing them. Which is the process that creates whey protein. Now y'see to compete in the Olympics I would need every advantage I could get. Even the slightest 0.1% edge might earn me the gold medal. - 🧀I had to make a choice: all super natural foods werido or Olympic gold medalist. Yes, my imagination runs wild when I let it. - 🧀I started to take whey religiously, tracking the amount and timing perfectly. It’s been almost a year since, here’s my biggest takeaway so far. Unless you really are competing in the olympics, joining bodybuilding or lifting competitions where the slightest advantage could be the difference between first place and second place… - 🧀It doesn’t matter. - 🧀It doesn’t matter what type of protein you take, it doesn’t matter when you take your protein, as long as you take your protein. Taking whey religiously, buying into the hype of taking protein at a certain amount of time after workouts, the type of whey, the brand of whey I’ve found all of that is just unnecessary stress. I want to give a shout out to all the mama's out there! This sh*t is NOT EASY!! 😮😮😬 Between keeping up with laundry, dishes, meals, cleaning, working, keeping the children alive (HAHA) etc...it's a non-stop gig. And sometimes...it's just really hard. Sometimes, I just wish I could crawl into a corner and have NO responsibilities for just 1 day...but I can't and I keep going! If you are a mama...give yourself a HIGH FIVE!! Actually...give another mama a high five to let her know she's doing a great job! 👋👋👋👋 Consider this my high five to all the mama's and dad's out there!!! You are all doing the best you can, which is all we can do!
👉🏻SHOW UP👈🏻 This guy. This guy shows up for his family, for his employees, for his partner at work, and for himself everyday. Regardless of the amount of pain he’s in (living his life with DDD and multiple herniated discs) he shows up! It would be so easy for him to run out the door & grab a ☕️ and 🥪 at Starbucks, like he used to. But he doesn’t. This is how you can find him every morning, shake and coffee in hand, running out the door. . Now, if you know my husband at all, you’ll know he is the biggest skeptic out there. So, when I suggested he change his coffee/breakfast sandwich turned smoothie routine, to a superfoods shake, he was less than thrilled. But, he trusted me, tried it, and has never looked back. BONUS, 6 months into drinking this shake, his cholesterol levels normalized, where previously, we had tried everything (damn genetics). We’re both 2 years into drinking our superfoods and have more energy and are hardly ever sick! . I show this second picture to show how far he’s come. This was about 14 years ago. We’ve been married for 18 years now and he’s never looked better. And he’ll tell you that was his plan all along 😉 Proud of you and love you babe 😘
